Wow...the 21st century is really amazing. First, don't get drunk and knock on somebody's door. Then, it was the "drunk dial". Now, the (maybe not so dorky) guys at Google created a feature to stop us from drunk emailing...What will they think of next: Stopping people from "drunk posting"!!! :thumbsup

When you enable Mail Goggles, it will check that you're really sure you want to send that late night Friday email. And what better way to check than by making you solve a few simple math problems after you click send to verify you're in the right state of mind?

By default, Mail Goggles is only active late night on the weekend as that is the time you're most likely to need it. Once enabled, you can adjust when it's active in the General settings.

Hopefully Mail Goggles will prevent many of you out there from sending messages you wish you hadn't. Like that late night memo -- I mean mission statement -- to the entire firm.

This girl I knew online once sent me a very drunk message which I was able to later ascertain was quite sexual and uninhibited... unfortunately she mistyped my email username, so it didn't get to me. I could see attempted delivery and the bounce action in the mail server logs, but she didn't realise until the next day and of course refused to resend it. Damn, if only I'd had a catch-all setup! :D

Besides the extremely geeky passtime of checking mail server logs late at night :helpme you could have seen the message from a few linux commands, so long as there was a message ID in the logs... :winkwink:

I checked the server logs when she "apologised" for the email the next day, and realised I hadn't actually received it. :(

I don't see how I could have retrieved it with "a few linux commands" since the data never would have been sent into my server, it would have been rejected with a user unknown message at the RCPT TO phase.
