Who's the best boxer of all time?

Technique, brute strength, longevity... etc... use your own criteria and give your opinion.

The obvious knee jerk reaction answer is probably Ali, but Joe Louis has to be up there though. What about LaMotta? That guy was an animal.

gotta go with KIMBO!!!! (j/k)

In all actuality my opinion is Ali

Are you serious? Mohamed Ali is the best boxer of all times, no doubt!

Eriic 10-07-2008 07:04 AM

George Foreman?

Like I said, Ali is the obvious choice but I think arguments can be made for others.

I think Ali would have had his hands full fighting Max Baer for example. Put them both in the ring in their prime and you'd have a tossup I think.

I tend to lean in this direction as well.

Nigel Ben was a hard hitter.

There are several, most of which never fought against each other so ites hard to decide who was the best.

theharvman 10-07-2008 09:24 AM

Mike Tyson?

FelixFlow 10-07-2008 09:50 AM

Ali is up there, maybe not truly #1 tho

Sugar Ray Robinson
Larry Holmes (up until 1st retirement)

they could also be mentioned

Kudles 10-07-2008 10:04 AM

Not really sure

emac 10-07-2008 10:31 AM

Ali is the best!! No doubt.

Evil Chris 10-07-2008 10:41 AM

Mike Tyson? Well, I don't know. He was most impressive in his early days, but quite lacklustre in the 2nd half / last third of his career.
