Solid hosting these days

What companies offers the best dedicated hosting these days? I'm spending a few thousand on hosting a month and currently have 3 servers. I'm NOT looking for a ton of offers here, but who are the most solid hosts around today?

I just got online to 12 hours downtime for my main server (hosting my members area) and not a soul at webair knew anything about it. It went down 3 minutes after I recieved "I have made some modifications to the TCP/IP implementation on your server" via email. Been home with a sick kid today and didn't have time to get online before now. If my GF hadn't come home and allowed me 5 mins online it would have stayed down for god knows how long. Not the kind of service I appreciate.

All good. Gotwebhost too.

Good luck!

If you are looking for nice competitive pricing, all high end bandwidth (no cheap garbage) and most of all Superior Support then you should talk to Jim at www.techiemedia.com Also if you search the boards these guys havent had a downtime or bad support thread in like ever. Truly the cram of the crop.:2 cents::thumbsup

2 companies I love and trust are Phatservers and Mojohost. Both I have dealt with and been nothing but happy with :thumbsup

Jensen: Talk with Brad at MojoHost. He will hook you up.

WebairGerard 10-07-2008 07:02 AM

Trying to reach you bud, hit me up when you can. Thanks.

Clearly one of the best hosts in todays hosting market is techiemedia. I have several servers with them and push a few hundred megs and all I can say is these old school guys rock. I've tried a few of the more well known hosts that post on the board and none even come close to the professionalsm and level of support that these guys give. Go do some searching for hosts with bad support and/ or downtime and techiemedia will not be mentioned, but they will be mentioned over and over again as a Premium Quality host.:pimp

Wow another webair bad support thread? it's amazing how many of these pop up.:helpme

rowan 10-07-2008 07:20 AM

I had something similar with webair, they claimed they knew my server had gone down within seconds yet it took them hours to notify me.

bash 10-07-2008 07:31 AM

If you do a little research you will see that TechieMedia is by far one of the best hosts you can get. Prices are good, but above all their support is Superior to anything you are used to. Talk to Jim or Wayne and see how they can improve your entire hosting experiences.:thumbsup

phatservers mojohost

Jensen: despite what I said about webair above I wouldn't necessarily jump hosts just because of one incident. Who's to say you won't run into some issue at the next one? What about downtime when you move hosts? Talk to Webair and see if they can make good and find some way to ensure this doesn't happen again.

This isn't the best forum to ask that question. You won't get an unbiased answer here. Most of the answers you'll get here will be from host that post here, people that have talked to them or host that are known and open about hosting adult content. Then there's people trying to make a quick buck off(affiliate codes) of ya even if the host sucks.

I would rather use a host that's good at what they do than use one just because they remember your name and talk to you. As for "adult host", very many of the big host out there have no problem long as it's legal content so it doesn't matter that it's porn. Saying they are an adult host is just a way for them to sell more hosting.

Anyway I'll list one for you that you probably won't find posted by anyone else here... softlayer , one huge host that's pretty damn good at hosting. They have lots of free & cheap tools to monitor your servers uptime. If that isn't enough for you it looks like they offer services to have a human check it for $50 a month.

Softlayer also offers DDoS protection "standard", if you get hit many host will tell you they can't do anything about it. Most of the others will try to charge you out the ass for adding more hardware to put a stop to it.

There's more host like them but you most likely won't find them posted here. :2 cents:

6+ years and 4 servers and I still am with my boys at Techiemedia. The support, and uptime just simply cannot be matched. This is a family, not just another host.:thumbsup

As mentioned several times already, here is another vote for Techiemedia. Plain and simple the entire Tecchie crew is a class act. No Downtime, great prices,Unbelievable Support and even the billing chicks are cool. I moved to them like 8 months ago and all I can say is they blow the doors off all the other hosts I've tried.:pimp

Kudles 10-07-2008 10:09 AM

Never dealt with them

dready 10-07-2008 10:10 AM

Mojohost, no question... make sure you talk to Brad there before making any decision.
