Max Hardcore Case Vote

Your Opinion on Max Hardcore please.

a) Crusader for Free Speech? [set him free]

Or

b) Cowboy Hat Wearing Sex Maniac Pervert? [lock him up]

Definitly not a crusader for free speech. He only fights for himself and his right to pay willing girls to abuse as he wants.

he obviously isn't a crusader for free speech, and i highly doubt he would claim to be that.

Did he highlight fuzzy areas of the law ? yes
Did he know he was right on the edge of legality ? probably

Did he deserve the penalty he got ? i personally don't think so , but im certainly not suprised he did , you either are an example or live to porn another day

Not a crusader, but he shouldn't be locked up.
And walking the line of the law or not, if he didn't break it... (that part I can't pretend to know the truth on)
In my eyes, the only reason he's being locked up is because some uptight, Florida citizens think their personal views represent what is best for the nation as a whole.
Absolutely fucking ridiculous. Even after the trial, some jury members admitted to caving in to the pressure of other jurors who just wanted him locked up because they found him offensive.
So to the jury that found him guilty on all counts, screw you you spineless fucks.
Thanks for getting your sucker-shots in on the Constitution, too.

I imagine that it was clear certain jury members were not going to stop the deliberations until they got a guilty verdict- their resolve to get that verdict was greater than the people who thought he was innocent. The people who thought he was innocent probably didnt want to sit there until the judge calls it a hung jury (or whatever it is called when the jury is hung).

Apparantly the prosecution lawyers kept throwing out offensive and sarcastic remarks to jurors in the courthouse between sessions too.

He was convicted of shipping and selling, not producing.

I don't agree with what he did, I thought it was pretty fucking sick and a stain on this industry. Then on the flip side I don't think I should have the right to decide for someone else what is obscene or not.

I figure as long as no one is hurt or doing anything against their will, then how could I judge them as being wrong or obscene in a court of law.

I don't think he was a crusader for free speech, but I do think the case took away free speech.

He is not a crusader of free speech. He knew what he was doing was on the line and he did it anyway and he made a lot of money from it. He also dared the government to come after him and he got his wish. Sometimes you bring it on yourself.

That said the government should not be in the business of legislating morality. If Max wants to pay girls to let him have extremely rough sex with them and pee on them, that girl willingly takes the job and someone wants to jerk off while watching that in the privacy of their own home, they should be allowed to.
