PR up - traffic down? Anybody seen that?
 

One of my site recently got a PR2, since than (3-4 days) Google hits are bouncing up and down - one day down by 90% next day up by 1000% and than down again by 90%. Anybody seen that before??

lol I dropped PR to PR3 but my google traffic went up with approx. 0.5-1k/day

so this is where my traffic goes now :-))

Just because PR is up does not mean that traffic is as well.

It's a normal phenomenon with new sites, they move around alot and as said before: PR is never a good indicator for traffic. I have a PR6 mainstream site that barely gets 1k visitors a day...

PR and traffic are not correlated.

toolbar pr means nothing. It's a fun way to get some bragging rights but that's about it..

well, actually sales are up...site is online since Nov 2007, so I would think its new...

Pure coincedence. Uncorrelated.
You did not get the pr2 on the day it was shown or the pageranktool but before.
It takes time to transfer.
Since the site is still new I assume the total amount of google traffic is still low. Small numbers can make a big change in the percentages then.
And as WiredGuy said....ranking in the serps is a better indicator for your amount of traffic....

PR and traffic are 2 different things

well, it was stable for months (+/- 10%)... thanks for the info, I will closely watch it, although it seems there is not much I can do about it...

You should worry about your SERPs, and not PR.

I tried to find out what SERPs means, but I am not sure if I understood it. Maybe anybody can tell me???
