Politics amuses me...
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/...ama/index.html
With Obama rising in polls while the country struggles in the grip of a financial crisis, Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign decided to shift attention away from the troubled economy and onto issues of his opponent's character, judgment and personal associations, the Washington Post reported. "We're going to get a little tougher," a senior Republican operative said, requesting anonymity because he wasn't authorized to discuss strategy. "We've got to question this guy's associations. Very soon. There's no question that we have to change the subject here." So essentially what they're saying is that Obama is winning the argument on the economy so instead, we're going to call him names and insult him.. It's funny because that's the same tactic that many on GFY use to debate. |
I think they mean they are going to attempt to tarnish him by going after anyone he may know or have associated with. Which with their percentage of lies versus truths or even partial truths will sound very ugly.
Seriously doubt that Obama will fall for it and change his current course. I really think he knows how others have fallen for that tactic before. |

It's better to sling mud if you can't win an argument in politics. |
I really think the majority are getting past falling for name calling and mud slinging, or I at least hope so. I know there are plenty of hardliners that follow the party lines who's votes never would of been changed, however I feel many are just fed up with current conditions and well will not tolerate deviation from the issues.

wow, I can't believe I put "attaching" instead of "attacking" both times... ugh. Waking up at 5am does weird things to my mind.

Palin/mccain are scum bags. I hope Obama starts running Keating 5 commercials. That will be the best thing since sliced kimbo. Mccain has so many skeletons in his closet it will be funny if the gloves really do come off.
|
Palin's already accused him of consorting with terrorists...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7653132.stm If you read the reason for saying so then to me it only shows the McCain camp up for the scumbags they are. There really is no justification at all for the claim, or rather it's soooo very flimsy that no rational, sane person could draw that conclusion. |

Seriously, THIS is what wins elections?!?!? |

That's not the problem is people are failing to understand issues so they perceive him to be correct. Perception is the only thing in politics that matter. |

Mind you - the fact that the Republican party still has so much support after the crap from the past 8 years culminating in the current fiancial fiasco says it all really. |
So Obama was 8 years old when this Bill Ayers guy was a radical and he has denounced Ayers' past.
Her remarks that "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect" and "This is not a man who sees America as you see America and as I see America" are ironic considering that her husband was a member of an Alaskan seccessionist group. |

That is if you believe your vote matters, which it doesn't. |
It's pretty much all they have left.
