EscortBiz 10-05-2008 05:17 AM

Jarmusch 10-05-2008 05:19 AM

You do that when you sell your soul to the devil. :D

DarkJedi 10-05-2008 05:27 AM

jpwhits 10-05-2008 05:46 AM

Darkcrni 10-05-2008 05:50 AM

This Guy ROCKS!!!

RedShoe 10-05-2008 05:53 AM

Well no offense to this guy, but as far as tutorials goes, that was one of the worst. I think the idea is to actually teach something and not just show off for 5 minutes.

I do have to say though, someone learned their fucking scales in grade school, Damn. This mof fo is one fast mo fo.

PantieZ 10-05-2008 06:00 AM

Itīs showtime.

tons of appregios and scales. Fast and clean !!

But his playing got no soul :2 cents:

RedShoe 10-05-2008 06:01 AM

Actually.. this guy ROCKS!

Your guy is impressive, but my guy ROCKS!! LOL

Your guy and my guy should form a band. Shit, I wonder if there is some sort of fantasy band game. You get to put together bands and do like a battle of the bands with them. The winner gets like concert tickets.

WOJ... GET ON IT MO FO!

nation-x 10-05-2008 06:03 AM

I heartened by the fact that his technique hasn't improved in 20 years and he hasn't updated to a newer style.

WebairGerard 10-05-2008 07:27 AM

to me the most impressive part is not the speed but how clean he plays at that speed.

dennisthemenace 10-05-2008 07:50 AM

I think it's neat that MAB can play like that either lefty or righty - upside down or right side up.

Bringing a drummer in isn't fair.. Especially if it isn't Thomas Haake :thumbsup

Your drummer might be good... but in that clip all he seems to know is double and triple kicks. Maybe the sound is just too fucked up. And you'll notice I didn't come in here and kill it with Neal or Buddy.

Herb Kornfield 10-05-2008 09:17 AM

He can play scales nicely but you cant hum a single one of his tunes.

I remember the good old days playing the northern IL/southern WI club scene. Mike was in a band called Holland. We opened for them a few times. Mike's a super nice guy...very, very down to earth for having such extraordinary talent.

Don't laugh too hard..this was the height of the big-hair 80's

shit....

d-null 10-05-2008 09:15 PM

where's a good place to buy a guitar nowadays? pawn shops? guitar center? ebay? craigslist?

I haven't had an electric in years and want to get one to fuck around with, so anything with half decent action and even just tolerable sound quality would be fine (I'd be playing through headphones or usb maybe or just acoustically, so I am not looking for a stage pro instrument, just a good practice guitar..... any suggestions? cheap, good action, available?

I used to play a kramer with kind of a 'strat' shaped fretboard, but I am not stuck on that, I kind of always wanted to try the les paul style of fretboard just for something different...

Anything from Schecter is good... the Damien is priced cheaply but is great. The C1 series costs a little more but is better because of the set necks. Cant go wrong with a Schecter.

The high-end Epiphones are surprisingly good, but stay away from the cheaper ones.

Dude exactly. THe hands over under thing is pretty tough. I can do it to a few patterns but not as fast as he is doing it, I can not coordinate my hand that fast to get that precise on the fret board. I have tried and tried and traid but the guy's hand is like the Matrix moves that the Agent's do LOL!@

Hell yeah man I have that to, I am not into his playing style so much so I picked here and there what I felt like I wanted to know but even a couple of things from Batio can go a long way.

Yep he's got Speed Kills, Speed Kills 2, Speed Kills 3, and Speed Lives. Him and Doug Marks are currently working on a new one right now.

are there any good computer interfaces you recommend for practice purposes, or small headphone based practice walkman type amps?

d-null 10-07-2008 12:10 AM

Actually, Line-6 makes a shitload of stuff like what you are asking for. And its really reasonably priced. I have two Line-6 Spidervalve amps, and the Line-6 Pod X3 Live.

cool, I actually went and grabbed a couple of things tonight

I can't believe how much things have gotten cheap and advanced in the last few years

I bought an ibanez gax70 for $100 off craigslist, and it is fine for what I need

I went to guitar center thinking I would buy one of those little practice headphone amps, but then was looking at the digitech processors and realized I could get much much more for the money and plug my headphones right into the processor!!

what a score, I wish this technology was around when I was first learning guitar, for $79 I got a digitech rp70 guitar processor that has more effects than I imagined, plus a built in drum machine for simple rhythm (great for practicing), and it sounds great through the headphones.... it is unbelievable that $79 buys a 'pedal' that would have cost $1000's to try to put together not too very long ago.... so for under $200 I am equipped with some pretty decent practice gear for hours of fun
