So Kimbo Slice's fighting career is over now, right?

12 second KO,

LOL!

After Shock Media 10-05-2008 12:11 AM

I think official time was 14 seconds, but they gave him a mulligan in effect. Prepared for another fighter and last moment switch, blah blah.

Sands 10-05-2008 12:12 AM

I'm sure that Mr. Slice will now have a long and lucrative career as a nightclub bouncer, alligator wrassler, and beard-shampoo spokesperson.

fallenmuffin 10-05-2008 12:12 AM

It was 14 and they played it off. He even said the after party was still on, lol.

Petruzzelli was fighting in a lower weight class and he still owned the monkey.

Not defending Kimbo. Personally I have felt he was way over rated as a fighter and was more of a beginner. Just repeating what they said and shit.

DarkJedi 10-05-2008 12:17 AM

he can appeal on grounds that the referee was white and discriminated against him.

:1orglaugh

VeriSexy 10-05-2008 12:28 AM

No surprise, he was all about hype

tiger 10-05-2008 12:41 AM

14 seconds damn. No way to explain that shit off.

Quality stuff. Love the pronunciation of alligator "wrassler".. lol.

Doctor Dre 10-05-2008 12:58 AM

Kimbo always said himself he was a child in the game... no surprises there.

He's a great learner, he will be back...

Drake 10-05-2008 03:00 AM

I think it's over for him. I'm pretty sure he knows MMA is out of his league.

JamesK 10-05-2008 03:29 AM

He will probably bring out a reality show like all other celebs.

As long as there is money to be made, his career is not over. Tell me, do you think next Kimbo fight will still get tons of views? Of course it will, so its definitely not over. Also, I don't know 1 undefeated fighter, even Fedor, has a technical loss on his record and he is regarded as the best fighter in the world. People need to be more real about the situation. :2 cents:

Outside the fact that most true MMA fans know Kimbo's skills aren't comparable with the top guys, MMA is the type of sport where if you slip it's over, the margin of error is small if any - a loss, no matter how quick is not that damaging - the big guys lose all the time, SEE CHUCK LIDDELL. To true MMA fans, this really wasn't a shocker, and I also think if you asked a true MMA fan, you would know there will for sure be more fights for Kimbo. As long as people know him and want to watch, there will be fights. Only the peopel who have seen his videos, and don't really understand or follow the sport think Kimbo is this amazing fighter, but at the end of the day, he's exciting and he was known to millions of people, so he's at the top of the food chain in Elite XC. Without Kimbo, where would Elite XC be.

Jim_Gunn 10-05-2008 08:33 AM

Make no mistake, Kimbo's career is not over. There is still interest in seeing him fight, especially if the previously scheduled fight with Shamrock can come off next time.

notoldschool 10-05-2008 08:38 AM

People dont understand MMA is all. Although I KNOW Kimbo will never be a top 20 Heavyweight he can still have a good career and there will always be intrest for him if they line up a couple more meatheads for him to knock out. EVERYONE loses in MMA one time or another.

Phil 10-05-2008 10:14 AM

Kimbo was never MMA level fighter. They always paired him up with people he could beat. Come on, Shamrock lost last 5 fights, he's 60 years old. This whole "internet legend who became pro" was a load of horse poo.

The only thing lamer than people who say that everything is a fix and people that say "would of" when they mean "would have" is people who wildly exaggerate other people's ages to make a point.

Maybe not completely over for him, but he was in over his head (ability) in that fight.

WarChild 10-05-2008 10:27 AM

Well, bad break for Kimbo. Seth was a tougher opponent than old man Shamrock, ever in a lighter weight class.

One loss does not a career end. He'll be back, fighting cans and pleasing fans, no doubt.

What do you know, what are you like 80?

Mr. Cool Ice 10-05-2008 12:58 PM

Give the guy a break for Christ sake. He is out there trying to make a living and you shits have nothing better to do than bust on his failure in one fight.
