coffee is for the gays and hippies.

You buy pre made blends? Does that work well for you?
Personally we buy a few different whole beans and make our own house blend. Well we also have some beans that are not blended but those are more specialty. |

haven't tried to make my own blends or anything... that's round 2 :) |
To me blends sort of scared me so I went with my own blends. Was much easier in my mind to just buy a few different bean types and mix and match em.

I make my own.

what about those Hawaiian kona beans? |
Jamaican and Kona beans are good solo performers in my opinion. It is hard to pick out which beans may be good for a personal blend due to taste preference etc. Not to mention no idea how your store does roasting etc. I often will do like a third dark French roast, almost 2/3 Colombian, and the remainder being a supreme something for a breakfast blend. Stuff like that.

Try Illy or Segafredo coffee. Wegmans chains also have some nice blends :). Just last month I bought a pound of African coffee beans at this import store -- it was the smoothest brew I've had in a while.

hmmm, there's Illy and there's bullshit

I like Kona which i get shipped direct as its cheaper. Or a local roaster here in San Diego produces Organic Blue Sky a "fair trade" coffee. Im not a fan of bitter French roasts like the over roasted Star-Bucks muck

torrefazione palermo is my favourite! i also like peet's sumatra. :2 cents:
