I still think of MMA as a sideshow - but I am now casually interested in the sport. Would this have happened in a marquee boxing match? If an opponent dropped out the day of a fight would they pull in somebody else just so the show could go on? Don't think I've ever seen that at the top levels of boxing - i'm sure on an undercard it happens.

it did in the United States that's for sure. But does boxing suck? haha - boxing at its best laughs at MMA clowns. Unfortunately nobody in the US other than Mexicans wants to box - everybody wants to be in the NFL or NBA now.
