Some of the £13,000 per night suites come complete with a gold-leaf 18-seat dining table and others a glass wall into a giant fish tank holding some 65,000 fish, stingrays and other sea creatures.

It is all part of the £800million Atlantis Hotel the latest word in Gulf excess which will also be home to the world's tallest skyscraper.

Alan Leibman, of hotel owners Kerzner International said: "Atlantis, The Palm is an entertainment destination that is truly different than anything that currently exists in the resort category in the region."

I wouldn't go to Dubai if they flew me there first class and gave me the hotel room for free. I don't like gambling anyway, nor do I like overpaying for everything, and I damn sure am not going to fly halfway around the world to a Muslim emirate, just to surround myself with rich people and new building construction.

Even then if you really wanted to go bad and needed to go. I would rather go via yacht knowing there is a remote chance of escape if need be. More than likely cheaper anyways and who spends that much time in ones hotel room?
