Well, maybe not quite that extreme, but dammed PCmover Essentials totally rocks!

I installed the software, hooked up the cable and hit start. Took a little nap and woke up to the new laptop looking almost exactly the same as my old one.

I wasn't sure if it was going to be worth the money, but I have yet to find anything that doesn't work.

I need a new laptop and the one thing putting me off was moving my programs over its a total ball ache but it should be easy with that app.

love that any mac can migrate fully ( every preference / file ) from any old mac, timecapsule back up :) when I upgrade my MBP I'll be in the same exact environment, just with new hardware :)
