Badass Slow Cooker Recipes. Give Me Yours.
Been staring atthe slowcooker, and I think I should ut it to use. But I don't feel like roast or stew...
|
I usually pick up some of those prepackaged things at the market. Mix it up and cook it for 8 hours in the slow cooker and it's good as shit. Chicken & dumplings is my favorite! They are usually kept in the frozen food section! Little too much sodium but other than that - goooood!

my wifes mother does a wonderful chicken stew in the slow cooker.
|
Sperm... Might as well try it.

It is too late for a long reply but would gladly give up many such recipes as I oven use one as my summer oven.

Slow cookers take too long, get a pressure cooker and your meal will be done in like 20 minutes.

Here's an easy chili recipe:
1) brown 1 lb ground beef in a frying pan 2) dice 1 whole onion 3) dice 2 large tomatos (or use canned/stewed tomatos) 4) put it all in the slow cooker 5) add 1-2 cans of kidney beans 6) add 1 packet of chili seasoning Cook 2-3 hours on high and stir it once in a while. Makes about 3 meals. |

I usually just go through the fridge and throw in whatever. I made a great mango chicken curry once.
I don't think I've ever made the same thing twice. |
I am currently taking part in a slow cooker recipe contest. They give you a list of ingredients and you have to do something in the slow cooker. My entry is chicken (thigh) and bacon meatballs in a cider broth. That actually turned out really nice.

this site has tons of great recipes.. one of my fav's is.. 2 pounds - roast beef 2 teaspoons - black pepper, garlic cloves, minced, worcestershire sauce, steak sauce 3 carrots sliced 2 celery stalks, diced 1 chopped sweet bell pepper 1 onion diced 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup tomato juice Directions Cut beef roast into serving-sized portions. Use more beef if you need more than 6 servings. Brown beef in a bit of vegetable oil, you can skip this step if rushed for time. Slice onion and separate into rings. Dice the peeled carrots, dice the celery and slice the peppers into thin strips or circles. Place these into bottom of crockpot. Sprinkle the beef pieces with fresh ground black pepper, minced garlic and the onion soup mix. Place on top of the vegetables. Mix the steak sauce and worcestershire sauce in a small bowl with about 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup tomato juice. Pour this over the meat. Turn the crockpot to Low, cover and cook for 7-9 hours. |

I used hard cider for this (as it is all we get here) but the normal stuff should work: Chicken & Bacon Meatballs in Cider Broth Ingredients 1 1/2 lbs skinless chicken thighs, taken off the bone 5 slices bacon 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon dried parsley 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil 2 cups leeks, cut in half lengthwise and then sliced 2 cups fresh button mushrooms, sliced 2 1/2 cups chicken stock 1 cup apple cider 1 teaspoon dried tarragon 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 3 cups medium pasta shells, dried Directions 1. Roughly chop the skinned and boned chicken thighs into chunks and put into a food processor. 2. Chop up the bacon and throw in with the chicken and then pulse until the mixture is ground up. 3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add the first tablespoon of Dijon mustard, dry onion flakes, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and the dried parsley. 4. Mix up really well with your hands so that everything is combined. 5. Form into medium sized meatballs. 6. Heat olive oil in a nonstick pan and then add the meatballs and just brown them off. 7. Put your crock pot or slow cooker onto high and transfer the browned off meatballs into the dish. Make sure to wash your hands as you have been handling raw chicken and pork. 8. Add the sliced leeks and mushrooms on top of the meatballs. 9. In a bowl whisk together the chicken stock, apple cider, second tablespoon of Dijon mustard, tarragon and garlic powder. 10. Pour mixture over the meatballs and then cook on high for 2 to 3 hours or longer on a lower setting if you are going to be out. 11. Just prior to serving, cook the pasta shells according to the package and then divide up into bowls. 12. Pour over the meatballs and broth and serve with some nice bread. |

Saw this recipe posted somewhere last week but have not tried it yet. Sounds good.
Puerco Pibil (Slow-Roasted Pork) 5 pounds pork butt or shoulder, cut into 2 inch cubes banana leaves ½ C orange juice ½ C vinegar 2 T salt juice of 5 lemons 8 cloves garlic 2 habanero peppers, chopped 1 shot tequila or mezcal per pound of meat - or to taste - use the best tequila you can find ... this is a very important ingredient, and if you use shitty tequila, it is going to affect the flavor BIG TIME!! Personally I use a nice $45 bottle of HERRADURA REPOSADO Annatto paste: in a coffee grinder finely grind 5 T annatto seeds, 2 tsp cumin, 1 T black peppercorns, 8 pieces allspice, and ½ tsp cloves 1. In a blender, blend annatto paste and the rest of the ingredients except banana leaves and pork. 2. In a large bowl mix pork and annatto mixture until pork is evenly coated. 3. Line a deep roasting pan with banana leaves, put the pork mixture and cover with another layer of banana leaves. Cover tightly with tin foil and bake in a 275° F oven for at least 5 hours. (about 7 hours, and the pork will just crumble apart ... Mmmmmmm!!) **If you wish to have roasted potatoes and veggies with it, add them between the banana leaves after about the 3rd hour ... _ |
Cheesy Chicken:
1 can cream of mushroom 1 can cream of broccoli and cheese (or just campbell's cheese soup, undiluted) 2 cups frozen mixed veggies 4 chicken breasts, lightly browned Cook on low all day while youre gone at work Serve over rice ( i prefer rice a roni broccoli, or chicken rice) Super yummy, super easy! |
I know it isn't very complicated, but I buy a corned beef packet with the packet of spices in it and throw them together in a slow cooker. It cooks overnight, usually on low, like, 11 hours. Then an hour before serving the meal I quarter a head of cabbage and throw it in, too.
