I saw one for 5 mins the other day.... just a matter of time before most webmasters are asking for half the video... tube sites do not convert... people who are searching for "porn tube" terms know that there are free sites out there... why would they pay for it.. no matter how long the video you post...

i dont think there is anything wrong with using 3-4 minute videos, why not? most new movie fhgs nowadays come with 3 - 1 minute clip previews in them, so why not

If the guy's got traffic, the sponsor should be bending over backwards to help him focus on generating more of that traffic by seamlessly handling as much of the "selling" aspect as possible.

You can easily generate random thumbnails via ffmpeg but making a good one for each video requires precious time.

Why should the sponsors time be less precious. Hell affiliates already get record payouts, expect as much shit for them to be paid for as possible such as hosting, demand all promo material be created for them and more.

Really wish things went tiered again but different. The less sponsor resources you use the higher the payouts, the more you use the less people get paid.

That's a good point! I'd also like to add that as a sponsor who's been doing this for nearly 6 years I can tell you from experience that 99.9999% of affiliates that ask for special promo materials are the ones that never send sales. It's the guys that have no problem using the tools provided that acually send sales to the programs. I've never even heard from the majority of out top producing webmasters however the guys that send 100 clicks a year are the ones who always ask for the special content.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind taking the time to accomodate special requests if the affiliate is actually going to send some sales to the program however in most cases those that require "special treatment" are the very ones that don't send any traffic. Just an observation I've made over the years and I assume every other program owner or affiliate manager has seen the same thing but many won't say anything for fear of pissing off someone that may send them a few clicks.

Having a FEW videos floating around of that length are fine for promo (or longer if promoted from WITHIN someone else's members-only area) , but much more and you're shooting yourself in the foot.

Hence my qualifier "If the guy's got traffic" - the amount of extra effort spent on a webmaster should be directly proportional to the amount of $ they can bring in.

It's all about specialisation and focusing your time on what you're good at. I personally am a "webmaster" and web developer, not a pornographer; I know how to crank traffic from SEs but I have very little interest handling actual porn. From my point of view - as someone whose main role is to drive traffic - time spent fucking around with content or any other actual porn shit is time wasted that could be better spent on scripting and traffic development. Of the multitude of sponsors out there of basically comparable quality, the ones who get my ad slots are the ones who make it easiest for me to put up advertising that flows through to the tour and converts.
