Insurance, the hidden threat to our industry!

Mark Kernes at AVN has written a superb article about how the insurance companies are no longer writing policies for adult productions in LA. And, without the necessary insurance, you can't get a production permit for conducting a film shoot in LA. The problem could be much bigger than just LA.....

As current policies expire, companies will either cease production, go underground (the old days), or move production elsewhere if the necessary insurance can be found.

Adult Production Insurance in Jeopardy

Thanks AVN for the excellent heads-up!:thumbsup

So why film in LA? Whats the big problem filming a couple hours away?

Redrob 10-03-2008 05:36 PM

I think the insurance problem will be nationwide.

See if you can get your current policy renewed.....?

That would be going underground.

Think many cities allow films to be made of any type without a permit (their cut) and requiring insurance?

slapass 10-03-2008 05:43 PM

ahh no money in it.

is there an way to end run around this ruling
say by shooting a documentary about your porn (family business, web dreams) and having that insurance cover your actual porn shoot as well.
