Stupid little Rich Kids

There is this extremely rich family that has two kids that go to my university...... Dad owns Alcatel and Mytel Networks so they have more money then you can believe (billions) anyways the son is a big dumbass that cant figure out what to do in life.. So like 2 weeks ago he decided he wanted to make a movie (a spin off of zoolander) so his dad is giving him (a 20 year old kid) 40 million dollars to make the movie...... Its gonna suck so much ass too

Can you believe that?

Daymare 11-01-2002 12:37 PM

fucked up

421Fill 11-01-2002 12:38 PM

dayum. that's kinda depressing. I could make a movie for 1 million that would blow it out of the water.

Webby 11-01-2002 12:40 PM

Some folks have little "values" in their lives - bet Dad worked most of his life to the exclusion of many things :-)

krysco 11-01-2002 12:41 PM

must be nice.
I have a friend kind of like that just not as rich.
Daddy can have have $$$ so i can do this and this...oh sure son here you go.
It pisses me off but what can we do besides try our best to be that rich. Soon very soon !!!

eru 11-01-2002 12:43 PM

Aren't we all little rich kids? :P

RedShoe 11-01-2002 12:44 PM

Zoolander was a piece of shit film.

Hey if I had billions and a dumb ass kid, I'd give him 40 million to keep his ass out of my face.

40 mil to buy a kids affection is worth it as well.

Mrs. Redshoe and I are are building up all our money so that when we die, we can leave it all to just one kid so the others will take her ass to court and fight her for it. At least it would keep them all together. Maybe not emotionally, but physically as they'd be in court together.

quiet 11-01-2002 12:44 PM

damn, that's pretty fucked up.

why don't you try to be friends with those little f*ckers!

KRL 11-01-2002 12:58 PM

When I was young a very wealthy friend of the family said to me "Son the 2 easiest ways to make money are to marry it or inherit it" hahahahah

I went to this private boys academy when I was young where all the kids parents had the kind of family names known all over the US, and I was happy as hell when I switched to regular public school in 6th grade cause the super rich kids were all fucked up upstairs. Had no sense of the real world and values. Lazy spoiled ass brats. Their parents were all freaky too.

Upper middle class has a lot more normal people. The super rich are so isolated from things they lose touch with the real world I think. Not all of them, but surely a disproportionate number.

Most of the friends I had at that private school hardly saw their parents, who were always traveling and stuff, and their nanny's and butlers were like the real day to day parent fill ins for them.
It was an interesting experience to say the least.

Classic, and completely true.

I know, where the fuck did they find that slouch anyway? One day he's a nobody now he's a star? Please...

What you said about the rich kids is true too...wannabe tough guys. They have everything in the world and all they want to do with it is act like little punks, do drugs, and pretend like they know street life. It's like they do everything to fuck up their perfect lives.

If I had that background I'd use it to make more millions, or charity (not likely) but not throw away my life.

Those rich kids are typical of the ones I've met throughout my life.

funkmaster 11-01-2002 03:11 PM

"Hahahaha... idiot's going to lose 40 million. Sucker. Money's no substitute for talent."

oh yes my friend, it is ... talent is worth shit without the $$$ !!

Kimmykim 11-01-2002 03:14 PM

Wow, his dad owns all the stock of a company that is publicly traded on NYSE, Nasdaq and some foreign exchanges for different company parts?

Chris R 11-01-2002 03:19 PM

If it makes you feel any better - Alcatel Lost almost 5 Billion in the last 12 months - so your website is more (hopefully) profitable than his father's entire company :)

EscortBiz 11-01-2002 03:20 PM

Look at the chart for this guys stock, its a shame but like all the guys in these compaies the end comes and its nasty

If the stock would not look like it does who cares but come on his investors are suffering big time.

Look at this chart and you will see what im talking about

Also - I doubt the person is really worth "billions". Not that many people that fall in that category ~ 200 in the whole world with 2 billion or more.

once someone reaches anywhere close to that it really does not matter how many billions

SubStandard 11-01-2002 03:35 PM

If I had that kind of cash I'd give my kids $40mm to NOT make the movie and embarass the family.

"Here some cash you little retard. Go spend it on blow like the rest of my rich friend's kids and quite trying to do something with your life."

Well that is sort of the problem - when people start throwing numbers around they seem to think 1 million = 100 million = 10 billion.

If he was a major stock holder - he could have at one point been worth 2 billion on papaer - and now be worth $100 million. $40 million dollars is a pretty big chunk of $100 million. Of course he would have to sell ~$70 million in stock to get the $40 million after taxes - depending on how long he held it - where he lives and such.

Most rich people don't get rich by luck (sometimes luck plays a part), but they don't usually blow that kind of money.

BJ 11-01-2002 03:38 PM

My father is ridiculously rich and aside from college tuition, he didn't give any handouts whatsoever. Growing up it kind of sucked, because I could never understand why pops wouldn't hook me up. But in adulthood, I realize it was a good thing. He grew up on a farm and worked his ass off for everything he has and basically feels that his children should do the same.

I remember once there was a party at there cottage and myself and a few friends went up..... the cottage has 18 rooms, its bigger then most hotels...... 6 jetskis, 2 huge cabin cruisers.... a matchbox boat or whatever those fancy ones are and a ton of other toys...... There current house has a

family of people who live there whose job it is to OPEN THE GATES to his house...... they are a gate family.... he has like 20 live in employees at his house alone........ very very rich....... He's supposed to be worth like 6 billion, but I can understand your skeptism

His daughter needed a house to live in close to school, so he bought 2 (200k) condo's next to each other, tore down the wall between them and made it on huge party house... its the closest to school possible too, right outside the property, closer then some residence buildings heh

Well that does sound like he likes throwing money away - a gate family :) I wasn't doubting what YOU said by the way - just what you have been told as far as actual dollar figure.

Still - if he is worth that much - he would be (or should be) on forbes list. I would check it out if I were you - or let us know his name. Some one could live like that for a while on a lot less than 6 billion. 6 billion is the market cap of that whole company - so I doubt it would be that high (at least now).

People that blow money like that are just crazy.

Good for your father.:thumbsup For some of you... business any business is a gamble, and your luck *DOES* change. Of course if you have talent, brains and don't mind putting in the hard work that helps a ton. Your luck might go from bad 2 bad shit (have no ideal what bad shit is) or good to very good. Just hope you have good luck until you have made some *Bank*... then you can ride out the bad luck periods.:2 cents: after being in business for about 30 years... And if someone wants to *flush* 40 million it's there money *they made it* and it's NO 1's biz but there's.:2 cents: :2 cents:

Hey PipeCrew, if these are not just a marketing trick, but are really yours, what the fuck are you complaining about??

Kimmykim 11-01-2002 04:31 PM

His bio says March and Mitel -- Alcatel is actually a French based company that has been around for a long time -- they were among the first, along with Siecor (Superior Cable originally, now a part of Siemens) to contract to run fiber optic cable both underground and undersea.
Alcatel has US offices in North Carolina for their production facilities here, and other offices elsewhere in N America for sales and administrative capacities.

Siecor, Alcatel and Commscope -- maker of all those Jerrold cable tv boxes during the 80s and early 90s -- all have production facilities within a few miles of each other in N Carolina actually.

I had this friend at high school, his parents are Italian and moved here to open up restaraunts and shit like that....

Well he is the oldest out of the children in the family and when he was old enough his mum and dad wanted him to go to a private high school, it was gonna cost thousands of pounds

anyway to get into this high school you had to sit a test and it was pretty straight forward but my friend failed the test deliberatly coz he never wanted to go to a private skool....

he was one of the nicest guys and most down to earth people I know and never gave a shit about how much money he had...

He is now 19 same age as me and owns his own restaraunt coz his dad built him one....he had lots of qualifications through school but never choose to go to university just because his dad wanted him to be the same as he was....

My friend is very rich but still a great guy....I suppose some rich kids aren't half bad :)

Geeze - the guy has even been knighted by the queen :)

Guess the $40 million won't hurt him. The guy that ran Adelphia gave a couple million (of his alleged shareholders money) to his daughter to make a movie - and it ended up winning an award.
