you've got to be kidding

cryptie 10-03-2008 02:18 PM

mashups is the cumulation of two or more web services to create another service. Ie: a mashup of flicker and google maps could be a globe with pictures on it where they were taken, or a mashup of facebook and a gallery could be a widget on your blog that displays pictures of your friends.

it is an amazing name, a little out of my budget, but amazing. I do not know the value of 75k, and do not know what other domains would be worth 75k to compare, so i can't comment of the asking price.

If you need a lengthy paragraph explaining what a domain means to potential buyers, that automatically renders it worthless IMO.

Denny 10-04-2008 01:06 PM

$5 - my final offer.

donkevlar 10-04-2008 03:11 PM

Uhmm... you guys must all be really old ;)

A mashup or bootleg[1] (also mash up and mash-up) is a song or composition created from the combination of the music from one song with the a cappella from another.

Really popular genre right now. See: Girltalk, Ztrip etc

I have no reference as far as how much the domain would be worth.

But I, personally, know that I have typed that domain in before at least once.

shuki 10-05-2008 04:22 AM

agreed, but this isn't the site to be selling it on. if he posts it on a PROPER web application forum, it would be sold a lot faster.

tiptop 10-05-2008 01:32 PM

IMO you killed a very good domain by advertising it on a board, this one should have been sold by a private sell or by sedo

just my 2 cents

anyways good luck

Klen 10-05-2008 06:45 PM

Never heard for that until now.I think word which require looking into dictionary cannot worth somuch

Hansm 10-05-2008 07:51 PM

5-10k ok.

but 75k for a name like this, dont think he will even sell it in the next 20 years for that price.
