I just registered this domain with the hope of pushing the playboywebmasters suite of sites on it solely.

"playboy models" is a pretty highly searched term and from what I can see in the search engines, it would be fairly possible for me to get into the first page results with some effort over the next few months.

By doing a quick search, I have now found out that I might not be able to use this domain name given that it includes the words "playboy".

Can someone clarify if this is the case?

Thats correct, you wont be able to use that domain do to copyright and trademark rights...now you may though, get an agreement from them to send them business. If its for that you have intentions.....business is open ;-)

Definately have no plans for the domain other than to send them business so I am hopefull that they would be open to making an arrangement. Thanks for the words of hope :)

They can take it from ya, doesn't mean they will though, who is the owner of playboymodels.org ? been on 1st page for "Playboy Models" in google for a year. Doesn't seem like they have any interest in taking it.

When you get that blog to some top spots and start sending sales it would actually be stupid of playboy to take it from you. If they take it sales stop, if they dont sales continue and probably rise. But on the other hand Playboy is usually pretty strict with their trademark.

This is a site I have looked at, it does very well in the search engines but it's pretty beatable all the same. Hopefully they will have no interest in taking mine either when I reach the 1st page :)
