I would say that Biden won the debate. Kinda suxx though because I was hoping that he would CRUSH Palin! :1orglaugh

If you ask me, he was way too easy on her. :(

Ramos 10-02-2008 08:08 PM

Biden kept his composure, I thought he did a good job. Getting choked up was a nice touch. Palin really had a challenge tonight......she avoided a few questions and I heard Maverick way too much tonight.

fuzzylogic 10-02-2008 08:08 PM

neither - nothing bad happened to either, but since palin exceeding expectations i would give her the credit and win even though she seemed heavily scripted.

SunTzu 10-02-2008 08:24 PM

people that have to say they're a maverick are no maverick. Biden easily won without even trying. Next time, slaughter the bitch.

There is no next time. Her political career is now over. :thumbsup

She did a good enough job to impress her base. But if she stood there juggling three bibles, that would have impressed them too. Not enough to make McCain's ancient ass look like a good choice though.

ok, then please take some time to point out what negative impact either had to their campaigns due to tonight's debate.

abadfish 10-02-2008 10:35 PM

I can't say I saw an actual winner of the debate but I voted Biden because he actually knew what the words coming out of his mouth meant.

I was getting so sick of hearing the word maverick that I wanted to kill Palin. Seriously. McCain isn't a maverick and McCain/Palin aren't the ticket of change. Fucking stole that from Obama. McCain isn't going to change a damn thing.

fuzzylogic 10-02-2008 10:42 PM

i thought it was classy of biden to attack mccain instead of palin, whom was an easy, easy target. interestingly, palin attacked obama. perhaps that was both parties strategies all along, to not attack each other but the 1st tickets instead.

Elli 10-02-2008 10:49 PM

Ok, I just finished watching the last hour and a bit of the debate. Wow, what a scorcher! I loved seeing them call each other on certain points, but still being polite and respectful. Joe breaking up when talking about his family's car accident brought a tear to my eye. Palin actually impressed me. She strings together sentences well and thinks very quickly on her feet. She's excellent at making eye contact with the camera. But the way she danced around topics without answering the questions with any substance was so transparent!

And is it just me, or did Palin completely not understand the meaning of "achilles heel?"

MediaGuy 10-02-2008 10:56 PM

Osama Ben Laden.

I hear Palin has a bigger cock than Biden.

Your choices were too narrow - i didn't vote.

Well im not looking at it as far as issues are concerned. Clearly I think Biden had better command of the issues. Im just looking it as what each candidate needed to do and not do for their respective ticket and parties and they both accomplished that. One way or another, I don't think it will move the polls one way or another.

Eric 10-03-2008 04:52 AM

In my opinion Palin sounded like a scripted robot, and when the questions didn't match her script she just basically said FUCK IT and told everyone that she would not answer the issues that were not part of her script. Just my opinion.

sweetcuties 10-03-2008 04:57 AM

Biden answered the questions... I want someone intelligent as VP, not a moose hunter :2 cents:

I agree that they both did what they needed to do but if we're talking about who won the debate and demonstrated the qualifications, insight, and as you say, command of the issues, it was all Biden.

I agree with Eric. If Biden had stuck to a script and deflected questions so openly like Palin did repeatedly, we'd be roasting him. I don't blame Palin for not being able to answer many of the questions though. As she said, she's been thrust into this only in the last five weeks. Hence her unpreparedness. All the other candidates have had over a year to hone their positions and philosophies.

One more reason why she is not ready for this job.

Jodee_ExoticPays 10-03-2008 08:47 AM

im so tired of hearing about alaska. like when u were 10 yrs old.."if you love it so much, why dont u marry it".

Matt 26z 10-03-2008 09:31 AM

Her warning about parents and grandparents telling kids of a time when we were once free was pretty low. That sort of scare tactic -- loss of fredoms and death of Americans -- is something the Republicans bring out when there's nothing left to lose. Sadly, the Republican voter base eats that shit right up.

I can not think of one single realistic scenario that would result in the loss of freedom for the US that Palin is warning about. Someone needs to call her out on that and have her go from step A to step B to step C in how that can even happen. It would take a nuke war between the US and Russia and then China helping Russia invade the US by land, but that is NOT going to happen.

He had to be really careful not to enrage the women voters.

cwd 10-03-2008 09:37 AM

Haven't there been more losses of freedoms under the Bush/Republican congress than at any other time?
As for the debate, they both did what they needed to do, Biden did not roast Palin and made no major mistakes, Palin came across better than she has in her 3 interviews. Winner? None. Loser? Us.

Exactly that - sadly so few in the US realise that much of the Western world is a hell of a lot more 'free' than them now.

Megan Essog 10-03-2008 09:58 AM

Far too much thinking involved for either of em!

bausch 10-03-2008 09:58 AM

I hope that the deciding factor for most in this election is to not only chose who you think is best for this country but also who you think, if the situation presents itself, is READY to step into the Office of the President of the United States and run this country.... Sarah Palin :(

The best analogy I can think of is...

I am not about to select a high school quarterback to back up Tony Romo.
