What the FUCK is this GOTCHA question bullshit...

the republicans dont think that the public has a right to ask politicians questions...

jesus christ, the republicans just make up words to justify how fucking stupid their vp candidate is...

please, if you are thinking about voting for mccain/palin, just do the world a favor and go kill yourself...

V_RocKs 10-01-2008 05:21 PM

I don't have rights... I am an American.

seeric 10-01-2008 05:22 PM

its crazy how many people cant see through this... and its not just the republicans...

when did the elected politicians of this country decide that they were too good to answer questions from their constituents?

Snake Doctor 10-01-2008 05:24 PM

There is such a thing as gotcha journalism.....but to say that's what an average joe asking Palin a question was doing is laughable.

Now they're saying that Katie Couric was playing gotcha by asking what newspapers or magazines Palin read to keep informed before she was picked to be VP.
She somehow took that to be an insult against Alaska.

I agree. What is wrong with telling the public the magazines you read? She was so scared to screw up she froze on a basic softball questions.

seeric 10-01-2008 05:27 PM

just wait till tomorrow night when we get us some good old fashioned GOTCHA debating.

i can't wait.

Ayla_SquareTurtle 10-01-2008 05:48 PM

When you belong to a party which has spent years dodging every form of question or attempt at transparency, whether coming from a journalist or a judge, I guess the logical end is that any question, no matter how benign, is met with anger and treated as unfair. The republicans have a very "because I said so" thing going, and it's working well for them so far. Someone with as little to offer intellectually as Palin is a perfect candidate for this particular type of technique, and they're really going all out with it. She starts each interview with attitude and only becomes more hostile as it goes on.

(disclaimer: I hate the dems too so don't even bother)

BlackCrayon 10-01-2008 06:16 PM

GOTCHA...you're an idiot! lol

Tempest 10-01-2008 06:19 PM

No one ever said they have to "answer" gotcha questions... The problem is that they try and spin in some talking points and it just ends up being a mess... You can still look smart by saying you don't know something in the right way...

tiger 10-01-2008 07:49 PM

They said that when they asked her what types of news sources she read that was a gotcha question. Give me a fucking break. You can't answer what news sources you read?

"Uh I read all of them."

She hasn't been asked a single hard question yet and shes fucking up. They have basically had her in "press jail'. Will be funny to see what happens tomorrow.

tony286 10-01-2008 07:54 PM

the best is today mccain at an interview was asked is palin qualified he included her being in the pta as a qualification. lol

uno 10-01-2008 08:18 PM

I'm literally jumping out of my skin. I can't wait till the debate tomorrow night.

aico 10-01-2008 08:21 PM

qxm 10-01-2008 08:26 PM

I believe it was Gotcha Journalism Palin was complaining about....lol .... and Katie Couric was very impartial as I recall.... she was strong enough to hold a straight face even tho she was getting "Miss USA south Carolina" type of answers....

Drake 10-01-2008 08:28 PM

Gotta admit, Repubs have a way with words and spin. Remember "terrorist fist jab" and "freedom fries"? lol

It should be interesting debate since its being moderated by someone who has an interest in Obama winning the election. If the tables were turned, Obama and the Demos would be screaming about the debate being biased.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Controversy swirled over vice presidential debate moderator Gwen Ifill one day before the face-off between Gov. Sarah Palin and Sen. Joe Biden, after new scrutiny was drawn to her upcoming book featuring Barack Obama.
Gwen Ifill of PBS is the moderator for Thursday's vice presidential debate in St. Louis, Missouri.

In stories published Wednesday on NationalReview.com and WorldNetDaily's Web site, conservative commentators noted that "Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama" -- first announced several months ago -- is slated to be released around the inauguration of the next president in January 2009.

"...as if we needed any further evidence of a jaw-dropping double standard, we have to contemplate the sheer impossibility that someone who wrote a positive biography of [John] McCain being chosen to moderate a debate," wrote NationalReview.com's Jim Geraghty on Wednesday.

"McCain himself downplayed the revelation, perhaps rightfully so. His campaign approved of her selection and ostensibly knew about the book before hand (it had been in the news weeks prior)."

Although I agree, it would be better just to choose somebody else. Why taint the debate like this. It could even work against the Obama campaign if the moderation is perceived as being biased.

GOTCHA!

More in depth data.

First.. you don't know the dems would be screaming..

Don't let the book title fool ya.. It isn't a book about Obama..

The gal has no power over the debates.. She asks questions, and she can be pretty hard nosed. She isn't foolish enough to show any bias in her questioning..

But I'm sure there will be those who will try to twist things to make it appear as though she is biased.. Just as there will be those who will say that Biden's remarks are sexist... no matter how he answers... People do that when they have nothing else to go after..

notoldschool 10-02-2008 04:59 AM

Mccain is a grumpy old man that deserves to be president of the retirement home, not the USA. Palin is a disgrace to the entire process and It would be hilarious to see what the GOP would be saying about her if she were democrat. Just the fact they are stating she is ready to lead this country shows how worthless they really are. Fucking losers.
