What effects do you think will ripple our way?

Should we stock up on more Molson wobbly-pop and weather the storm by staying drunk?

It all depends on where Canadians invested their money. As for the future for me it will be business as usual and continue saving more to buy some real estate.

Alas, we only have available space in the basement for 18-yr-old, big-breasted daughters of Yankee webmasters who are willing and able to work for their room 'n board. :winkwink:

It effects me big time as the spending habits of US citizens is what makes sales. Not only affiliate sales but domain sales. When businesses clamp down spending, they don't buy domains and when the average joe clamps down spending, he doesn't buy porn.

Can't wait for the bottom ... would be an excellent time to buy a house :) Keep crashing!

It's been impacting me for 5+ years already! The value of your greenback is killing us up here.

it will make it more difficult to sell high-end used cars, since lots of inventory will be dumped into the canadian market from the US.

oil prices, blackberry.. we're taking hits

My guess is when shit really hits the fan, you guys will be more screwed than we are...:Oh crap

This winter I'll be taking the usual precautions

uh, last while the canadian dollar is down against the US...big drop today

Its hard to say. The Canadian and US economies are so tied together but we don't have the mortgage mess the states does. There are very few sub prime mortgages. For the most part, laws don't allow them.

Making the most out of the harsh Canuck cold! Also gives us the ''responsibility'' of keeping the Misses warm! :winkwink:

today is hurting me sales wise.. woke up to only 8.99 compared to the normal 200$+

with some really horrible ratios

LOl..dont tell any of the rich guys here that swear their sales are up. Fucking liars. Worst week in 5 years.

The dollar drop already hit us hard webmasters. But as far as the canadian economy goes, the US is a very big trade partner for us, so if they can't buy our goods, we will probably enter a recession too.

80% of our trade is with the US post-NAFTA - it isn't a matter of "if" a US slowdown hits us, it's "when" -

our "leaders" repeating "nothing to worry about, the fundamentals are strong" isn't exactly soothing ....
