How long before the "Amero" starts to be a buzz word?
The North American Union is about to start taking shape. :2 cents:
When this band-aid of a "bail out" fails, as it will, because you can't borrow from Peter to pay Paul, how long do you think it's gonna take before they start talking about the Amero and really wrap up killing the USD? Like it or not, the Dollar is on it's death bed and even with a temporary spike, it's gonna die. I say it's going to become a buzz word within a year. Make everyone comfy with it and promise the people how it will fix things and then slip it in our ass while we sleep. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but you also called me that when I said this crash was coming. |
why do you insist on making me use my brain? keep stuff like this to yourself so you can feel all smart inside.

Not going to happen any time soon. The American Dollar is already the main currency used in several countries, I can't imagine Canada, Mexico and great US of A, ever getting together and agreaing to have one currency.
|
Couldn't agree with you more. I think it's just around the corner, with everything the way it is. :helpme

I don't think they would say the USD is no longer valid, but I think the Amero will become the main currency. As far as the countries who still use the USD, they will probably go on using them or phase them out while going back to their own currency. Cuba stopped using USD a couple years back and introduced a new Cuban Peso. They survived. |
i like the sound of amereuro better!

Europe is already ahead of the game. Once North America gets with it and there is also talks of an Asian currency, there will be 3 currencies. Maybe someday only 1. Who knows? But none of us can't say it won't happen. Who would have thought 2 months ago that 13 or 14 American banks would close and we would be in the brink of a financial meltdown? :helpme |
I wouldn't worry about the dollar until they quit trading all major commodities in it... :pimp
|
I don't see why any country would want part of this right now.
|
I've heard of the Amero, but don't see how they will convince Canada (Mexico I would guess would be easier) to convert. Especially if the Dollar is going down...

Im not so sure that the dollar is going to fail.
The same thing has been said hundreds of times before. But I think that we are going to see some major changes in the way things are done. Keep in mind that Congress can pass this bill today, and Right after the next president is elected, it can be repealed. |

I live in Mexico, and in some places, the dollar is more accepted than the Peso. |
DWB, turn on your ICQ.

it might happen down the line with canada and usa at least

What a bunch of alarmists some of you are. I mean seriously. You act as if 700 Billion is all of a sudden going to devalue the US dollar to nothing.
The assumption is it's what the USA wants. News flash, jackasses, Canada isn't about to sign on the dotted line to share a currency with the USA. It doesn't even make any sense. It's always the same old idiots running around in a panic too. You'd think after being wrong so many times in a row some of you would give it the fuck up. Oh well, someone has to pump my gas I guess. |

USD/EUR = Charles Ponzi's currencies.
Taxpayers = Suckers. Immigrants = Suckers. Charles Ponzi = Winner. |

Before any serious recession begins in the US, it will happen in Europe. The USA will experience a milder recession that Europe and pull out of it much quicker. This will be the I told you so thread. |

This 700b will not be the cause of a new currency. No way. But it may start the downward spiral to it. How can you look at what is going on and think nothing is wrong? And Canada will get in line when their currency takes a serious dive. It may not happen for a while, but it's gonna happen. Mexico is ready to go, USA will be next in line and sooner or later Canada will get in line. They did it in Europe and it worked well. Why not in North America? |

As far as who will have the bigger problem first, I can't call that one. You may be right. But you can't dispute the fact that this "bail out" is a band-aid. |

In Canada, we can't even deal with a province full of misfits who think they have some sort of special culture. What you don't understand is it's almost a matter of national pride up here to NOT be Americans. Canada is rich in natural resources and has a small population when you consider how big it is. There's no reason what so ever to hook Canadian currency to American and ESPECIALLY not Mexican. Even if it were the will of the people which I honestly can never see it being. Yes, the US currency has come down quite a bit in the last 2 years. Want to see something interesting? Look at the change in the US trade deficit over the last 2 years. See a pattern? |
