This Rabid little S.O.B came into my yard in broad daylight growling at everything in sight then jumped my chocolate lab.

So I shot the raccoon twice in the head and called animal control. Luckily my dog didn't get a scratch on him and his shots are current till December. The Animal control officer said that if it truly is rabid, which after the way it was acting I have no doubt, that my dog would need to be quarantined for 45 days. He is certainly not gonna like that being the pampered lake rat that he is. Hope he doesn't get made into a bitch in doggie prison.

Yeah. I hate to kill any creature, and I'm not a hunter or anything of the sort, but I was glad today that I had my pistol handy.

I had to deal with a rabid possum myself before. Shit is not fun.
Though I do not mind hunting, just stopped doing it when I was 12 as hunting in a chair is a bitch.

I did as skunks are the same .if you see them during the day most likely it's rabies.:Oh crap

Yeah. first one just had him flopping, 2nd was a mercy bullet. and my dog had backed off from fighting him and was behind me. Crazy ass dog got very lucky, I think the coon was on his last leg when he came out of the woods. I probably did him a favor.

i have a ton of those bastards around here,

my gf got bit by one, we had to trap it so animal control could send it's brain off to see if it had rabies

it was her own fault though, i told her not to feed them, and one night she stepped outside and startled it and it barely nipped her,

it had a bum leg so that's how we knew we trapped the right one

Sometimes you haven´t got a choice. I would have protected my Labs, too. They are black and yellow ones. Great retriever, I love them.

I once shot a rabid guinea pig 3 times in the head...poor bugger :pimp

I've had to kill several of these, and my dog has become an expert at killing them.

Lately we haven't had too much of a problem, as we are getting ducks and lot's of green iguanas roaming around. The ducks fly upto our Oak Trees, somehow the possums and raccoons don't mess with them.
