Anyone ever hear of the National Association of the Self Employed?

http://www.nase.org/

They have health insurance plans and I'm thinking of signing up, but the prices are so cheap I dont know if the insurance is poor coverage.

I don't really care about the doctors visits because I never go. I just care about if I get hit by a car or something serious suddenly happens how well I'll be covered.

Anyone here use them?

Run from this group! At least where I live, they have the WORST insurance imaginable. My father had it for years, never made a claim. Finally did, and it covered about $55 out of a $9K bill. If you have BCBS available in your area, I highly recommend it. If you're young, healthy and short on cash, get the hospital/surgical plan - it's less expensive and is basically catastrophic coverage. If you're old like me, get the PPO. It ain't cheap, but I can tell you it's GREAT!

And now I've made my first post and it has nothing to do with porn :)

I just called BCBS and they dont have an emergency plan, they only have 2 premium plans, one is #336/mo and the other is $269/mo

I had nase and they were a pain in the ass.

My friend was also with nase and had a neck injury playing a game and couldn't move his head from side to side. He never complains about anything, but moving your head is kind of important - so he went to the emergency room.

They denied coverage. Said it wasn't an emergency.

They might be good for getting heart attcks and bullet wounds - as I doubt they could get out of paying - for anything else they suck.

Once I switched to a corporation - things were much easier, but I think you need at least one employee to get group coverage. It wasn't much more than nase - and doesn't have a 5k deductable.

Good grief! Mine just went up to $313 a month, PPO with $500 deductible and I'm an old woman :(

I only pay $97 a month for the same coverage for my 19 year old son......

Contact an insurance agent where you live that represents several different ins. companies and see what they can good for you. Fortis and Golden Rule are also good.

Good luck! I always say that I'll get remarried if I can find someone with good health insurance coverage :thumbsup
