A badly written script can bring down even the most powerful servers, trust me.

Godsmack 09-26-2008 07:26 AM

oh no, i know :p I've seen it. just saying, for a commercial script, if it brings down a server, and isn't coded SOMEWHAT efficiently, what's it doing being bought :p

wordpress is not badly written, just badly packaged, and it's done like that for compatibility resons :p

you MUST, you MUST cache files, and manage them via a cronjob.

wordpress rules. :thumbsup

Wordpress needs to spend more time on the backend code and less time on the eye candy. It's a poorly written web application.

cryptie 09-26-2008 01:42 PM

Let's agree to disagree :D

first install supercache. configure it properly.

remember, it could be the server too. wordpress IS very heavy, the point of caching it is to make it heavy once every 15 minutes. other then that it serves static html files.

after that start tweaking.

note: the pain in tthe ass with supercahce, you have to clear it everytime you want to make updates in the template, otherwise you have to wait up to 15 min.
