Bush's Speech..is it just me?

What got me when he was talking about what got us to this point, the cause/affect, was not a single mention of a war that costs nearly $10 Billion/month. I mean right or wrong, for it or against it, agree or disagree, at least ACKNOWLEDGE it. Heck he could have even spun it if he wanted to but no mention at all?? Isn't that a significant factor that has contributed to where we stand today?

I told him to jump in his time machine and to make it right. The money is out there. Just go back and get it.

Just wait until next month when Mozamkenyakawandans start eating each other again and we have to send them 20 billion in aid to stop the killing.

Exactly...how this went unmentioned just baffles me :error

Once again your government has pulled the wool over your eyes and almost each and every one of you is buying into it hook, line and sinker.

There is no spoon.

seeric 09-24-2008 06:55 PM

Forgot a couple.

"Your" is a definitive that we don't get to choose. We're stuck with it. How is the wool pulled over? Bushy is the fall guy. We all know that. He is merely the deflection and the distraction to the real ambush.

IllTestYourGirls 09-24-2008 06:59 PM

Not just one war. We are talking about 200k troops in EUROPE! More than Iraq and Afghanistan combined (or close to).

How about the FED printing press going non stop for 95 years? At some point we can not pay back the money borrowed from the fed let alone the interest rate. Yes we pay interest on the money we allow the fed to print. How about the SS liabilities? We can never pay those without painting more money. My god the list goes on, and way further back than Bush.

That tool has zero credibility, but he sure remembered to use the scare tactic again.
This is just another in a long string of jobs he has failed miserably at, but this time he takes all of the US public down in the process. It happened under his watch, he is responsible.

Funny that 700 Billion number is approx. what has been spent so far on the war, with more to come. Another lie he hoodwinked the US public with. He needs to be prosecuted.

Hard to believe people (read as sheep) elected the idiot TWICE. Keep your blinders on people as this isn't over yet.

I would like to see this bailout rejected. Maybe people would finally wake the fuck up.
I have friends that are losing their homes, and nobody is stepping in to help them so why should business get preferential treatment. I hope they just reject the bailout and let the cards fall as they may instead of making future generations bear the burden.
Hit the fucking reset button.....we are way overdue.

"the people have the power" is what he's referring to.
The only ones who could have stopped this, didn't. Hell, half the country wants to vote in his much older clone.

"by the people, for the people" has come and gone... the people didn't vote him in, he hasn't done anything for the people.

You're stuck with it only because you choose to be. The media and the government has played the US like a fiddle, splitting you.... dividing you. You're one nation against itself.

To stop a government, the people must rally together. But how can it do that when 50% hates the other 50% and vice versa?

The politicians did this. The media did this. The people did... nothing.

I agree with that..we're definitely a divided nation fueled by hate, fear and contempt.

I remember when they sold the Iraq war to us, under the guise it would cost around $2 Billion bucks and last a couple of weeks... six weeks tops!

Yeah, I trust these asswipes....

Yeah but the point Im making is not even about partisan politics, he could have acknowledged it saying the 'war on terror' and the war in Iraq was approved by both parties at the time and that it also contributed to our economic demise. I mean talking about the economy and it's current state without mentioning the war is like talking about WWII and not mentioning Germany as far as I'm concerned..

uno 09-24-2008 07:39 PM

What stuck out about "how we got here" was him making sure to emphasize it started about 10 years ago.

I cant tell if your being serious here or your just extremely dumb. Government defect has zero to do with the wholesale billions being sold short in the mortgage game.

I remember and I was right there with ya on here. 50% of this country (the bush voters) are getting what they fucking deserve, unfortunately we all have to pay the price.

12clicks, ya happy now?

Isn't dumb to assume that a war that some have estimated to cost $3 Trillion has ZERO bearing and affect on the state of our current economy, consumers, government deficit and so on? That's like saying a house burned down but it wasn't because of the fire. Bush himself said it was a domino affect, and isn't one of the tiles in this domino a very costly war? Yeah..makes sense...keep telling yourself the two aren't connected even though both reps and dems have mentioned it as one of the contribution factors.
