Americans, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Sheep in sheeps clothing. [PICS!]

Where's the outrage? Where's the riots? The government just bilked you fools out of THOUSANDS OF BILLIONS of dollars, without asking you!! It was planned from the start. You think this was all one big accident? C'monnnn..

Think.. Richest man in the world is worth roughly $65 billion dollars, US debt is now roughly $11 trillion, so that's 11,000 billion dollar bills.. You only need like 170 of Bill Gates fortunes to get back to 0.

Remember that day after 500 point drop, when there was news of the bailout, the markets reacted well and shot way the hell up? And you all were thinking.. What the fuck? Why would it go up so much like that in bad times? The reason it went up is not just the bailout, but that the market thought the government would OVERPAY for these bad debts... :)

Then yesterday your FED CHAIRMAN suggested the government SHOULD overpay, to make sure they do it right the first time...................... l, o, l.

Where's the riots? People's homes are getting stolen by evil guys on wall street, and evil guys in government, and nobody is even throwing a fucking rock???? ROCKS ARE FREE! Why are no buildings on fire? Where's the outrage?

I thought people there were proud of how tough and hard you are, like how the government can't things like guns away from you... Rarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. So why is nobody shooting a gun? No militias? Nobody willing to give their life to make a statement?

This is what happened in South Korea recently when the government made a decision to lift a ban and allow US beef imports back into the country.

The beef is not the issue, it's the reaction by the people to a government decision that's important.

I really love visiting America, and have lots of friends there.. But when I see your government ass fucking you and there's literally no reaction, just endless drones of people going on their merry way as the national debt doubles overnight, it makes me sad. I'm sure it makes you sad too. Why is it that nobody stands up for your country? I thought it was all about patriotism.. Does patriotism just mean agreeing with your wacky president and his team of clowns?

So.... Koreans > Americans ? Debate amongst yourselves.

uno 09-24-2008 03:36 PM

That last picture is funny.

Lycanthrope 09-24-2008 03:37 PM

We're going to make up for it by selling more beef to the Koreas

react 09-24-2008 03:45 PM

I raise my hand I got another question
If I start a riot, will I get protection
Cause i'm a kid whos got a lotta problems
If i throw a brick maybe the brick will go and solve them
Oh, yeah, I wanna riot
Oh, yeah, I wanna riot

A-n-D-r-E-S 09-24-2008 04:01 PM

When did that happen?

sltr 09-24-2008 04:11 PM

you mean like a good ole canadian riot, like this one?

I guess someone believes everything that their gov't tells them about us.

You must think we're all rednecks.

Not all of us own guns, not all of us are truly effected by the economy. I still make my money, I still pay my bills, nothing has changed for me.

Stop believing everything your gov't tells you about us. We're not ALL idiots.

isnt it something like $2k for every american? what a joke. the people that cant afford to pay for their homes should be held responsible for this. Honestly, this irritates the crap out of me because I work hard for my money (not saying im the only one) but why should I have to step up and bail out my fellow american who is to fucking stupid to manage his or her own finances.

all this is going to do is piss everyone off, including myself. we have to pay because other people that walk amongst us are to incompetent to pay bills? what about people who lost their jobs? well, you should of been smart and had 3-6 months of savings in case this happened.

OG LennyT 09-24-2008 04:22 PM

who's homes are getting stolen?

DWB 09-24-2008 04:37 PM

Bottom line... this is criminal and the American people will do nothing about it, just the same as when they allowed the Patriot Act to happen.

There will be no riots, no protests and no revolts. Americans will eat the shit that is fed to them over and over and over again and pay for mistakes they had nothing to do with. It's for the best I guess. If they don't have the balls to stand up then they deserve to sit at the table and eat shit.

Thailand just had months of protests in attempt to get rid of their prime minister. In addition to 10s of 1000s of people protesting, they shut down the airports, bus stations, rail ways and were about to start shutting off the electric and water. THE PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER and can show that power in a non-violent way should they be inclined to do so.

stop paying your mortgage and the government will take care of it. why not pocket that $1500+/month? i know people who are doing this now with shitty credit and nothing to lose and/or have a lot of equity and want to reduce their payments and interest rate with a government subsidized loan. its a fucking cash grab! why should your neighbor; who makes what you do but constantly buys shit he cant afford because he thinks he's entitled to it; be the only one who benefits? lets be #1 and get those foreclosure rates up to 100%. subsidies for all! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! :error

It's very comforting.

Well lets see here, they are not the one on the brink of a total financial meltdown. They also know how to peacefully protest in HUGE numbers and stand up against those they do not want in office. Americans are unable to fathom the size of balls that the Thais have. Americans are pussies, plain and simple. They will continue to do nothing and east shit for it.

Bottom line is this... America is on the brink of collapse. There is no "Plan B" should this bail out not work. If it fails, as it may, we'll see who is a good shiny example for others to follow.

They got rid of the last one and was in the process of getting rid of the current one. Then out of nowhere he got canned for hosting a COOKING SHOW!!! He broke some PM law. LOL Too funny.

So now they have a new PM and we'll see how that goes. But for sure if they people don't like him, they will rally and protest until he is out or he messes up and hosts a cooking show.

Of course not. I am speaking generally. There are some die hard patriots out there but the problem is, there is not enough of them. Though them let start to get out of hand and they will be shut down faster than stink on shit.

That only tends to happen when people have nothing to lose. If Fdr didnt do what he did, there would been revolution in this country. Most really arent feeling this so they arent going to be taking to the streets.

I think if shit gets out of hand you would be amazed at the numbers of people that come out of the woodwork. Remember you never see everything on the MSM. 100k people marched on Washington and not one word was on the cable news stations. Another 20k marched on Washington nothing in the news. 15k marched in Salt Lake not one word in MSM.

How about the outrage at all the liberal community organizations which pressured banks, sometimes via lawsuits, to make loans to people who could not afford them?

How about the outrage at all the ridiculous social programs like welfare which have bilked the US taxpayers out of TRILLIONS of dollars and made a whole generation into non-productive slugs?

Everybody blames the Iraq war, President Bush, and Wall Street. Maybe they were triggers, but they were not the underlying cause.

The underlying cause is socialism.

You want it to get worse?

Elect Obama and add on socialized medicine, another government boondoggle in the making..

It can get worse.

Welfare is under 1% of the federal budget.

Republicans have spent 33% of the Federal budget in the last month in bailouts, with more on the way. :upsidedow

Funny to see a Republican whining about socialism when his party just socialized the mortgage and insurance industry, with the banking coming up by the weekend. Socialist Republican Party has a nice ring to it.

None of what you wrote makes sense. You really think that 'people aren't affected by the economy' ? Uhhhhhhh... Even if it's not affecting you because you're super wealthy, wouldn't it bother you that it was affecting most of your friends and family? I guess all that matters to you is you?

It isn't that it's completely impossible, but certainly at the moment in the US it is impossible. The only way to do it is to raise taxes, that is the truth, and no one wants to say that. Perhaps that should happen down the line, and perhaps they should socialize medicine like the rest of the Western world, but to stand up like Obama and simultaneously claim you are going to CUT taxes AND push for socialized medicine along with a million other things is just crazy. And him selling that lie to the American people shows he is no better than Bush or anyone else, they are from the same ilk. Bush spent like crazy, money they didn't have mind you to appease people and get his second term, with total disregard for the long-term interest of America, and Obama is promising the same.

Odin 09-24-2008 08:19 PM

And I agree with the title of the thread. American's seem to have no idea how dire the situation is with their economy it seems. It's major, and this bailout may put a bandaid on it, but it is going to bust sooner or later, and it is looking like sooner. And all you can see, everywhere, is the majority of people carrying on about how Lindsay Lohan is now gay or some other rubbish. I think American's need this wake up call to be honest.

DaddyHalbucks 09-24-2008 08:20 PM

The paper cost of welfare is only part of the equation.

You also have to look at the long term cumulative effect of welfare on the economy, not just the paper cost, but also what you DIDN'T get. You didn't get productive workers. You need to consider the enormous cost of having all of these completely non-productive persons. You are seeing it now. Part of our economy is nothing but "dead weight."

And universal healthcare will further burden us, it will be the last nail in the coffin of a great country.

sltr 09-24-2008 08:27 PM

it's more than ludicrous to think that "throwing rocks, rocks are free" is the answer to the problem.

it's just as asinine to assume this "was planned from the start."

it's also an incorrect view that "your FED CHAIRMAN suggested the government SHOULD overpay."

it's even worse to suggest somehow that south korea has gotten it right due to riots.

Socks 09-24-2008 08:31 PM

But Hal, you do have these people, and they have 5 kids and no income.. So how would you deal with that very real situation? Stopping the kids from eating is pretty ridiculous, and the effects of THAT on your COUNTRY not just your ECONOMY are obviously very bad.

Here's a big question for every American here:

Nobody wants to pay more taxes. How do you expect to live with $11 trillion dollars in debt and not put in some extra money to pay for those past expenses?

Everyone seems to think this will be free to them, I don't get it. How can you raise money without raising taxes? Your country is burning a lot of money every day. You print $700 million dollars a day in new money right now - before all these bailouts, and it's clearly not enough.

You can't see how it ends, or how it gets better, or how you would ever get to a reasonable level, right? Doesn't make sense... So doesn't that worry you?

Well Republicans are the ones handing out money to farmers and telling them not to grow. I think that's exactly what you're railing against. The actual public welfare paid out by the federal government is fairly small and has very little impact on our budget.

As for our economy being dead weight, I agree, there are parts of our country that are. They are called red states. They are the ones that have the poorest economies and take in the most money per person. The blue states are the ones paying in the most and getting back the least. Seems the Republican states are the ones that are not productive and dead weight on the economy.
