T-Mobile - Google - New Phone... Who cares?
I am a T-Mobile user and I couldn't give a fuck about the new phone Google, T-Mobile and HTC are coming out with...
Here's why: #1 - T-Mobile does not have a 3G network and it looks like they won't be able to roll one out until some time in late 2009. #2 - HTC is well known for short changing its customers on important things like memory. Your phone will be able to run only 2 or 3 apps at the same time. Lame... Ohh... And I am talking small apps.. Like the clock, the alarm and a web browser. #3 - HTC is far behind the iPhone when it comes to touch screen technology. My Wing can't even get the use the thumb to scroll right. It will either select the text my thumb moved past or it will scroll to the bottom of the page. Hardly what was intended... moving one page down. |
all the iphone copy cats that have come out SUCK

Seems like this one will be better than their other offerings. That said, personally I don't think the iphone interface is as good as people make it out to me and the virtual keyboard is less than impressive since you have to look at what you are typing. I am all for a competition here if it improves the interface across the board. I am very interested to see what BlackBerry comes out with as in my opinion, BB have the best "smart"phones out there right now.

Phone looks like the old MDA form tmobile, which sucked
I would never get this phone. Mainly because its on Tmobile which has to be the WORST network. I was in a contract with them and lost my phone. So I had 3 months remaining on the the contract and went to tmobile and bought a phone outright, no discounted price so my contract wouldnt extend. Cost me $150 but thats life. I go to cancel the contract a few months later and find out it was automatically renewed!!!:mad: why? the response I got was because i bought a new phone. regardless if i get the discounted price or not, buying a new phone automatically extends your contact with them for another 2 years. :321GFY |
If they have 3G in the LA area I might reconsider.
The slide out keyboard is going to stay. This phone will let people know why. Typing on an iPhone or an Instinct is gimmacky at best. Nothing can replace a qwerty keyboard with buttons so you know you hit the character you wanted without having to look at the phone. |
Thank you was thinking of getting one now Im not. Didnt know all those things you said.

I could never handle a touch screen phone nor one that uses a stylus. I am actually looking at the upcoming Samsung Rant phone to use with my Nextel/Sprint cellular service plan since it has real keys and a slide out keyboard for texting and email plus some other features. It's cheap too.

I dont think it will take off like they want it to

I'll stick with the iPhone. Though I am considering the new Blackberry.

have taken a look at it, has some positives and negatives. TMO is capping bandwidth at 1GB a month and will throttle it afterwords. Interesting integration with Google and looks promising but will wait for Gphone 2.0. Like my E71 from Nokia a lot better.
