Is Estibot a reliable source?
I have a mature niche domain name I am going to sell and was looking at Estibot for appraisals. Are there any other programs that would also be reliable for appraisals? How accurate are these programs/appraisals? I am aware of Moniker so I will check there too.

Nikki you've created like 10 threads about shit like this, no NONE OF THEM ARE GOOD, esp Estibot which is maybe the most hated place in all of adult with their fake russian bullshit cheating traffic.... grrr...
If you think your domain is that good then post it here and you'll get some good responses to what it's worth, why don't you head over and ask moniker? I think they have things to value a domain. |

ok, it looks like you are not joking, so I guess someone has to tell you..... those automated appraisal sites or programs are PRETTY MUCH COMPLETELY USELESS and are most often off by anywhere up to a few million dollars plus or minus :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh also, beware of appraisal services done by humans, as they often are way off too:2 cents: |
Estibot will give you a general idea on which direction to go, but is overall worthless and can't be trusted.
Godaddy's appraisel system is for shit as well, I second the Moniker advice.. Certainly you wouldn't rather us lie to you? |

No automated service will ever be dead on. It's just no way to account for so many little things that only a human can account for such as the typo domains, quality of traffic and things like that.
However as far as those automated services go, it is pretty decent. However keep in mind that Estibot was created for professional domainers and uses wholesale criteria to formulate its values and that may or may not matter to your specific situation. What Estibot is good for as someone else already point out is to give you a solid starting point, but know that never in a million years are you likely to actually get what it says your domain may be worth. For example it gives TaraPatrick.com (the typo for TERA) a value of $130,000 and on these GFY boards we know the guy is still trying to get around $2,000. http://estibot.com/results.php?domain=TaraPatrick.com But in the end I woudl say it's still a great free service that gives you a quickie snapshot of the domain. |
