There's a clipart piece that's like all over the place with a 1950s guy grinning with his thumb up - of course now that I'm looking for it I can't find it anywhere. :helpme

yea this type of stuff - but with less detail & royalty-free - I want them for some t-shirt designs

Try an oldschool method. Do a google search for SimTel + Clip Art. There's a lot of free images that made it into SimTel sites back in the day.
