ZANGO....Is it still "destroying" the industry?

Zango is still in business right? People are still downloading it aren't they?....

So WHY hasn't the whole adult affiliate model collapsed by now?

like what? If they are sites with autodownloading apps, report it to google and their site will be removed from the index or banned

I thought zango was gone already, they are still around?

It's no longer "2257 and COPA and Zango, Oh my!".

Now it's tubes that are totally destroying the industry. Try to keep it straight.

a combination of things :)

infighting between spyware companies (remember when zango went to court because a competing spyware company was automatically uninstalling zango)

+ lawsuits against them made them have to really watch how their affiliates installed their software

oh yea, and in the meantime MS and other companies beefed up security to a point to where it wasnt as lucrative as previous

well, the tube sites are another story, imo. the US consumer is given a cheap alternative to *many* types of porn at a time when A) the technology is beginning to intersect in terms of bandwidth cost/high speed connections for quality free porn and B) the economy is crap, so its an easy subsititute versus paying, its become a buzz term unfortunately, like when napster came out

not to make this a tube thread

Just as slow as a machine infected with spyware, but IE crashes before it can get any 'codecs' installed? Go Progress!

Even if every surfer on world would have zango installed that would'nt destroy industry but it would destroy affiliate model.

That's besides the point. The problem with spyware isn't that it slows down the machine, it's that it redirects users, replaces cookies, steals signups,...

1. A lot of users replaced their (spyware infected) pc with a new (initially uninfected) pc (to be able to run Vista)
2. Spyware companies needed some time to make their crap run more or less smoothly under vista.
3. Most new pc's came/come with a trial version of an Antivirus/Security program.
4. Under vista it's a bit more difficult for users to infect themselves.
...

By 'destroying the industry' do you mean you are unable to adapt to the changes in the market?

Zester 09-21-2008 07:46 AM
