Besides being the most popular webmaster forum on the internet, GFY would certainly be one of the most popular forums across all subjects surely? Personally, i've never seen another forum with anywhere near as many posts.

I am afraid the board software will break down before GFY reaches a mil posts in this forum. They've had similar problems on other forums, where they had to optimize the db and cut off 200-300k posts in order to keep things smooth.
