The Chicago Cubs clinched the NL Central title on Saturday for the second
year in a row, and third time in the last six years, with a 5-4 victory over
the Cardinals. They will begin playoff action at Wrigley Field on Wednesday,
Oct. 1., against either the Wild Card winner or the worst division winner in
the first round by virtue of having the best record in the National League.
