ok i got a question

like 6months ago i got a ticket for tinted windows and no front plate..

anyway i pleaded not guilty, so i have a court date in 2 days..

frankly i dont wanna go and i have other things to do, the tickets have no points.. i just gotta pay like $200 or something..

is there a WAY to just pay without going to court, after u plead not guilty/get a court date..

You'll have to go. That way you have to pay court fees. :p

you could have before pleading not guilty. Not sure now. I think you have to go or you could get a warrant put out for you for not appearing. Im not sure if the tint and plate issues will be sufficent for a non appear, but its possible. they get uppity if you waste their time. Dosnt matter about YOUR time. :thumbsup

in NJ u can plead not guilty no matter what..

the cop told me to plead not guilty, come to court and he'll dismiss it.. but i dont wanna spend whole fucking day in court..

he should be fired, he is trying to be paid for going to court instead of having to work the street, what a crook

As was said before if you don't pay prior to the court date and don't show up in court a warrant will be issued for your arrest.

If you want to just pay it there should be instructions on the back of your ticket to pay prior to court date which in effect is an admission of guilt.
Wouldn't bet on the no points though. Especially if the cop told you that.

Who knows, you show up the cop might happen to be sick that day and won't appear.

Still don't understand why the second court date.
The judge can still find you guilty after listening to the cops side. You pay before you leave the court house.
Am I wrong?

go to talk the prosecutor and you can settle the ticket out of court,

you can even talk them into a reduced ticket.

in new jersey, you get a ticket, you plead guilty, and u pay fine,
you plead not guilty, you get a date some months down the line..

I plead not guilty, and i got a date, now i just wanna pay the damn ticket and avoid court, but it might be too late

Might be different in your state, but where I live you can go to the city courthouse before your court date and just plead guilty and pay. They usually don't argue when you try to give them money :)

But waiting in a big city courthouse can take just as long as going to court. Some states you can pay on-line.

go to court, stand up and say "Deferred Judification" and then get the proper tint and add the front plate.

I wanted to fight a parking ticket once in Los Angeles... (i was ticketed for parking in an area between a certain time 6am - noon" my ticket was time stamped 12:30 - meaning I should not have gotten a ticket, it was AFTER the time...

nonetheless, in LA you pay your ticket FIRST - then you go to court, I paid it and went on with my life...

Depends on the state. Some allow you to just pay, and that voids the court date. Better go.

I don't think they will. I've done this before, plead not guilty but then I had to take off and didn't go to court. They just mark you down as guilty because you weren't there to defend yourself, so it's just like a default.

The police don't show up sometimes and that's when you get the ticket dropped or whatever but they aren't going to issue a warrant for the police man's arrest and when I did it at least I was just able to pay the ticket afterwards (you get a notice in the mail).

But that's in Ontario, Canada!

it was dumb to plead not guilty if you were going to pay the fine. if it was $200 why not just plead guilty and send in the money? seems kind of retarded... and then you are going to hire a lawyer to represent you and then pay the fine, over $200?! Are you simple?

...Anyway if you get a front plate and get the legal tint before court you can tell the judge it has been fixed, and if you don't do it before court you can do what Advertising Sex said

You only spend an hour in court or less.

Just show up. It usually does not take that long. The one time I fought a ticket and went to court I was only there an hour and a half. I also listened to some interesting cases while sitting there.

the cop needs to show up as well....you might get lucky and he will get delayed at dunkin donuts...
