Isn't he a friend of KB? Sad news,

dennisthemenace 09-20-2008 08:23 AM

Too bad, he's a talented, hard working guy. Hope he pulls through it okay.

crockett 09-20-2008 09:07 AM

Wow that sucks for him, sounds like it was absolute luck that he survived. The article said him and another guy were dumped out of the wreckage and they were the only two to survive. Hopefully he can recover well.

TheSenator 09-20-2008 10:33 AM

I heard he is burnt to a crisp. Burn victims may live up to a week or so until dying.

Never let a woman fly the plane....

Fletch XXX 09-20-2008 12:25 PM

so where are all the guys who were preaching Karma all week?

This is exactly why I dont buy into Karma, because when things like this happen, NO ONE comes forward from the Karma crowd and says "well, he mustve done something bad."

Cnodolences to the dead and hope the injured a speedy recovery.

karma does not exist.

RevSand 09-20-2008 12:27 PM

Sucks.. Very scary.. I could not imagine being burned to death.. Would be a horrible way to go.

because by disrespecting the dead, you are setting yourself up for bad karma...

its a vicious circle............

no, people who believe in karma do not believe in it enough to stand by it in the face of tragedy.

you either believe it or dont, fact is bad things happen for NO REASON at all and karma believers cant accept that.

Again, condolences out to those involved, but you guys never put your money where your mouth is in incidents like this

Spunky 09-20-2008 12:46 PM

Damn.he's so lucky he wasn't killed

depending on how bad the burns are might have been better to die on impact:(:2 cents:

not really... everything can be broken down mathematically...

think about how many people fly daily... 1 accident out of how many flights.. its just that when a celebrity is invloved, people take notice..

its all about statistics...

TheAmericanCannibal 09-20-2008 12:54 PM

I am proud to call TRV a friend and I was horrified when I got the call from TMZ at 6 am that Lil Chris had died.

Chris was a cool cat and he had just gotten married and had a baby.
I met him while Too Short and I laid down a track with Travis for an upcoming EA Sports video game in Travis' studio in North Hollywood ywo years ago-

Chris would come out to all of Short's shows at the HOB on Sunset. and most recently got me in to the show they played at the ROXY. He will truly be missed. he was the funniest white boy Short has ever met.

It's a real tragedy.
RIP Chris Baker AKA Lil Chris

Miss Munki 09-20-2008 12:54 PM

OMG, that's so crazy and tragic. I hope DJ AM and Barker pull through, and if so, I doubt they'll ever be touring by plane again...that's some traumatic shit:(:(:(

Having been burned twice (in flames once), I'd have to agree. My burns were minor in comparison to what I'd expect in a crash, but if it's an inkling of what they experienced...

Once, when I was a kid, I got knocked onto a grill, and my clothes went up. The second time, Iw as cleaning my restaurant before I sold it, and someone knocked something into a fryer, splattering me with 400 degree cooking oil.

born2blog 09-20-2008 03:36 PM

very sad to hear :(

If you've never seen Richard Pryor's routine about when he essentially blew himself up, you should listen to it. It's amazing, and spot on when it comes to burns.

Helix 09-20-2008 08:09 PM

So.....whats the latest info on this?

Agreed. Bad, even terrible things happen to good people all the time. Karma is a nice fuzzy concept but in this sick, fucked up world it isn't any more than that. The little kid somewhere in the world who just got raped didn't get raped because of karma, it happened because this place and random and fucked up. Never really liked Travis, but I do wish him and the other guy well, recovering from massive burns is going to be very hard, and he may never be the same again.

tony286 09-20-2008 08:16 PM

hope it he makes it. damn that sucks

SomeCreep 09-21-2008 03:12 AM

I've also heard that burns are very painful during recovery too. Apparently they have to scrape off the dead skin in order that it doesn't get infected and for it to heal properly. I remember watching a guy talk about it on tv. He said the pain is something he wouldn't wish upon his worst enemy.

Matt 26z 09-21-2008 04:37 AM

What is worse?....

Plane crashing at low altitude and you burn to death pretty fast.
or
Plane malfunctioning at high altitude, and you know for a few minutes that you are about to slam into the ground.

CurrentlySober 09-21-2008 04:41 AM

My thoughts are with Travis...

----
AM is "really, really badly burned," according to the source, who confirms that "his face is very burned." The source adds, "More than 50 percent of his body is burned and the worst is on his face."

The friend also said that Barker was burned "mostly from the waist down."
