Starting a new TGP
 

It has been several years since I've ran a tgp. Do people still submit enough galleries to tgps to list each day? By requesting your tgp be added to submit software still get you submissions?

I just want to get back in the game. Sounds good while you're loaded.

1)I wouldn't even think of starting a TGP today
2)If I did, I certainly wouldn't play the submission game (there is probably a million or more hosted galleries available)
3)If I did, I would make sure I was surfing on a Linux or BSD box

Would using free hosted galleries be bad for seo purposes? I have an old computer that I can set linux up on. But, I'm too lazy. Are submitters today really that bad?

I seem to remember some sponsors or at least one sponsor that posts galleries to your tgp. Do they still do this?

Submitted galleries hardly give any backlink juice. The are often duplicated on a domain, meaning your page has even a less chance of being noticed and the gallery has even a less chance of being listed.

Hosted Galleries normally don't have enough or proper text to anchor off of. So a lot of Webmasters are using the same phrases, just different combos of words. Basically ripping down how many possible listings you can get from it. But you "should" get some listings, on some galleries, for some phrases.

You would also need multiple sources of links to the gallery, with your refid, using the same related phrases, to over power other people with higher authority. Otherwise you will just get chump listings that fall off. You have to make your link, more popular than others basically.

Used hosted galleries, and just get some traffic, clean trade it out, and just build clean backlinks and trades to your back pages. The SE's will take care of the rest.

If you submit your TGP to submission programs (like chameleon) I would make it so only partners can submit. Believe it or not, the galleries that people submit are worse now than in 2001.

Also, requiring a link or button on the gallery is just about worthless nowadays because gallery submission tools will make 1000000 pages in seconds, basically one for each TGP you submit too.

My :2 cents: dont get discouraged when you are not making sales from TGP. Those FHG you are using as content, so are about 100,000 other people so its not the first time they have seen it. Make some galleries of your own and plug them and you should see a better result. I use FHG for filler content and they do the job
