That's what I've been told which is why I'm interested in watching it. Funny, I don't remember hearing about it when it first came out.

StuartD 09-19-2008 05:07 AM

Take it with a grain of salt but don't go into it close minded either.

It seems that people either take it as their new bible, or dismiss the thing entirely... depending on where their allegiances/beliefs lie.

Rather, watch it with an open mind.... and take it as "a possibility" amongst many many possibilities since not one of us truly knows all of the facts and details.

Shey 09-19-2008 05:11 AM

Good because I am a very open-minded person to begin with and always find it hard to follow a belief or a theory from someones point of view, always try to make up my own mind.

I have heard that this movie sort of allows you to do that so I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Martin 09-19-2008 06:15 AM

Yeah, the film brings you up to speed on things. Enjoy!

Brad Gosse 09-19-2008 06:59 AM

in some ways I liked it for being an eye opener but I found the overall tone was more prophecy of doom which I don't buy into.

ladida 09-19-2008 09:03 AM

Bull movie. Conspiracy theorie galore.

It's funny tho, i have friends that are religious freaks, that watched the movie, and they are all, when talking about the first part, "omg, blasphemy, totally untrue, lies this that". And they even have proof what is lies what is not (eg. some things said in movie are totally not, as they say "in bible it is written this" and they find me in bible that chapter and it's not even written like that). So i say ok. I don't know about religion so i didn't have any stance on that anyway. However, those same guys when talking about second and third part are all "YEA YEA, did you see this.. See, i always said it's like this". So immediatelly, second and third part are all true and right. Eventho same people made it.. HM... so they totally lied the first part, but made totally true the second and third part? Hmmm.

Same things for some of my other friends that are against the second part. LOL. Second part is all lies, but first and third are all right.

Anyway, well made movie to make you think, however, it's made in a way that you think everything they say is true, which is not. Just another one of conspiracy theory types.

I wasn't big on Zeitgeist because so much of it is arguably true/untrue and it gets tricky to decipher, but this movie is great. :)

SmokeyTheBear 09-19-2008 10:02 AM

always keep an open mind. Almost everything in the movie you have likely already heard about , but they do lay some things out very well.

As others have mentioned just because they say it doesn't make it true though , many of the key points of the movie are vague assumptions at best

darksoul 09-19-2008 10:20 AM

as it was said on their site, the movie authors don't want you to believe everything they say its true but to go out and find yourself.
The movie is made to make you question things and not take anything for granted.

So, basically another movie made by some kid in his mom's garage who suffers from Overwhelming American Guilt Syndrome?

I'll watch it, but it'll be hard to keep an open mind, because I think most of the people making these left-wing internet movies are know-it-all kids.

there is no conspiracy theory
but there are people more smart, powerfull & rich then all of us with hidden agendas
with long term plans in macro economics we cannot even comprehend

Deej 09-19-2008 12:18 PM

Lots of facts and lots of lies.

The dieties are dated.

The banks are private.

A lot of the stuff in between is false.

People ARE bad and have their skewed agendas. Thats the main lesson.

Shey 09-19-2008 12:42 PM

I think I will enjoy it, I believe us Americans as a society are guided by what the media tells us and not enough of us stop to question certain things. I like movies like this one, it makes you think and re-evaluate what's going on.

Going on a road trip in a couple of hours so will have time to kill and this seems like a good way to do so :winkwink:

yes Esoteric Agenda is alot better

watch esoteric agenda

PR_Sebas 09-19-2008 01:14 PM

both movies are good, some truth alot of lies. enjoy!

Intervader 09-19-2008 01:19 PM

Definately an eye opener. I try and watch 2-3 documentaries a day if possible. Many of them are conspiracy theory but it still helps to look at the things around you, once in a while.

pocketkangaroo 09-19-2008 01:32 PM

As someone who studies history a lot, I had a lot of trouble with the first part. To make the claim that Jesus doesn't exist is one thing (and very well may be true), but to just make up a bunch of shit about other religions and stuff kind of killed it for me. They completely distorted the Horus stuff.

Matyko 09-19-2008 01:36 PM

I saw it on googlevideo. Great stuff

there is no absolute truth, just more personal thinking about stuff we take for granted :)

RedSkorpio 09-19-2008 01:41 PM

Very interesting movie .. good stuff

MaLayLaH 09-19-2008 04:09 PM

I thought it was very eye opening but again, take it with a grain of salt.

woj 09-19-2008 04:40 PM

sounds interesting, will have to check it out...

SBJ 09-19-2008 04:51 PM

yup I liked it.. i believed some of it and thought other parts was bs but for sure worth watching

Shey 09-21-2008 11:08 PM

Well, I watched it and yes a lot of it was BS but it makes you wonder about things we usually take for granted and don't bother to question.

In the first part, a lot of it was just pieces of "evidence" put together to make it sound more like truth. Funny part is, that's just what Christianity is about (as far as I'm concerned) some truth, and a lot of made up or borrowed shit to make it sound more like facts. But if you sit and talk to a priest (which I have) they tell you that they already know some of it is not based on facts but they still choose to follow it because of their faith in the religion itself.

Second part, well, the jury is still out on that one. I've seen a few videos and documentaries about the fact that it was all staged and although, I do believe politicians don't give 2 shits about human life, it would be pretty stupid to try and pull something like that in this day and age. But is it possible? Yes, I think it is! Did it really happen that way? I doubt we will ever know!

Last part was the hardest one to completely believe, yes, a lot of it had actual basis but what killed it for me was the very "Minority Report" future they painted at the end.

It was a good watch and it does inspire you to think but seriously... Who has the time and the resources to do this type of research in order to "prove" any of this things without doubt? Nobody, it would take a lifetime.

This is the type of film that touches issues that most of us can't effectively change, we can only change whether we believe or not.

This is solid and unmistakable. Zeitgeist thread is started with solid accuracy at least once a month. Makes you wander how many newbs are still out there...

Oh, thanks for that, I love to be a newb at something, to me it just means I learned something new today and that there's still so much to discover. I would hate to "know it all" I imagine it's a bit boring... :upsidedow

Here's something new you may want to learn: this board has a SEARCH feature. You should test it out :2 cents:
