Credit crunch - recession in Porn

Is any of you guys getting effected by the state of the worlds markets? :2 cents:

Gasper 09-19-2008 01:25 AM

I'm not sure if the markets are the reason, but this week was really slow

Business has been shit for a couple of years now. It's just getting worse and worse with every month. But that's recession for you.

Two years ago would have been growth. Perhaps you need to look elsewhere for you problems :2 cents:

Rescesion is argueably a good thing for porn - people stay in more, it's a relatively low-ticket item, and a great distractor from ecconomic woes.

If your bottom line is hurting, it is less to do with a downturn, more to do with the abundance of free competition out there:2 cents:

So now people are finally going to agree that the world financial down turn is affecting Porn?? For so long people have been saying that the economy does not. Because people NEED their porn.

Yes they do, but there is plenty for free, and a 5$ magazine lasts for months.

I don't the college crowd are getting approve for credit cards any more. It use to be just sign on the dotted line and get a credit card for 3000.00. The credit crunch is effecting shit.

- credit cards wont be thrown at anyone who has a pulse anymore

- companies are canceling cards of those they deem as high risk (ie: buying groceries with their cc)

and i don't know the numbers - but i bet 99% of online purchases are made by cc.

it's going to have some effect down the line.

It's the damn tubes, I tell you, the tubes! Them and the hidden pre-checked cross-sales, along with Zango and everything else! Hell, chuck in some dialers while at it, who cares if they've been dead for years?

Yeah I am noticing. Ratios are through the roof these past 3 months, and I am not talking a small number of usual sales either. The surfers are there but there is no way in hell they are buying. Only my super loyal micro niche ratios have kept their sales up.

It's silly to assume that this economy is not effecting this industry. We rely on regular people to pay for our services. And regular people are.... losing jobs, spending all their free cash on gas, losing their houses, maxing out their credit cards, etc. And you're telling me that everything's just fine?

Exactly. Many avg people, world wide, see winter coming and don't have a clue how much its going to cost them to heat their homes. This is not just a US slow down its a world slow down.
