"Palin paid for the office face-lift with money from a city highway fund" "I braced her about it," he said. "I told her it was against the law to make such a large expenditure without the council taking a vote. She said, 'I'm the mayor, I can do whatever I want until the courts tell me I can't.'"" |
this surprises people?? They're politicians!

Stories like these are exactly why the media sensationalizes every story. People eat it up. There are plenty of legitimate things and issues to bash Palin about, things that can actually be proven, like policies and voting records... and yet we still gather around the "it may be true drama gossip" like vultures. Hey, if she seriously spent $50,000 of the city's money redecorating her office for absolutely no reason... let's get some proof and tear her apart. Until then, why don't we focus on the things that can actually be proven? |
Is $50k really that much?
I spent over $10k when I redecorated my office. :2 cents: |

It doesn't matter anymore. Her credentials as a small-town maverick has lost all credibility. She may be an outsider geographically-speaking, but she carries the same type of baggage and history as those in Washington, like Obama and McCain. Politics is dirty wherever you come from, apparently.
I wish we would get discussions on things like whose tax plan is going to be better for the economy. For the foreseeable future it seems America is going to be enmeshed in foreign conflicts like Iraq/Afghan and/or new ones like Russia/Pakistan/Iran which is costly. This is an independent non-partisan analysis of their tax plans to date: http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/publi....cfm?ID=411750 Obviously big business and the wealthy generally will favor McCain's plan. I'm curious if in the real world which plan will work best for everybody. Each candidate is surrounded by top economic advisers who have helped to craft their economic plans. Why are the plans so different. Is it merely a battle between two schools of thought? Have both philosophies been clearly used in the past with one a clear winner or one a clear failure? If the latter, why would trained economists advise to use it again? |
umm... if that's her office, she needs to seriously be removed from access to tax money.
|
that was her Mayor office, she is governor now, new office.
But yes, thats the one she spent 50k on. |
I am sorry, actually that is her CURRENT Governor office, her Mayor office is not pictured much online... the pic is from 2007
|
here is the Mayor Office (Bordello-like)
http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/...alin1.span.jpg is that a bed to the right???? LOLOL |

She dropped $50k on a new office for the mayor? And you don't think every other mayor does that? Every governor? How much do you think the new Preisident of the US is going to spend on redoing the personal living quarters in the White House? |
close up of print
http://static1.firedoglake.com/30/fi...aw_damask1.jpg yes those are cowboys with guns and an Oil Rig LOL and she wants us to believe she is for alternative fuels? BUAHAHA |
Do her offices actually have a desk to do some work at?
