Best HD Video Camera for around $2k

Got around 2k to spend on an HD video camera for an upcoming web series. Doing both mainstream and adult scenes. Any recommendations out there based on the current camera market. Would love one of the high end Sony cameras but will hold off on the success and maybe upgrade if it gets better.

Any recommendations helpful. GFY FTW

You can get a lot of recommendations for decent cameras in that price range here, but what's your budget for lighting? Your lighting gear, and the way it is used matter a lot more than the camera itself.
