AVN ADDS NEW CATEGORIES for AVN AWARDS!
 

For the first time EVER.....Internet based categories will be included at the 2009 AVN AWARDS!!

Any company with a site can go here to pre-nominate their sites or
girls in the three new categories we've added to the AVN Awards:

Please email [email protected] to be qualified, which is detailed on
that web page, i.e. get approval that they are actually in the adult
industry. From the list of pre-nominations, our committee, which
consists of AVN Online staff, and reviewers from Rabbit's Reviews and
The Best Porn, will choose the final nominees. The winners, will of
course, be announced in January at the AVN Awards - the end-all, be-
all awards show for the industry ;-)

The categories are as follows:
Site of the Year
Web Starlet of the Year
Best New Web Starlet

Long overdue. They should have a lot more net based categories.

It is no secret that the physical media based companies are really hurting, and that year's show will be a lot smaller than last years.

AVN needs to expand to award show and really reward the net based companies. They are the one with advertising budgets and are the ones thriving in this industry.

It was about time...

I do not want to piss in the AVN cornflakes considering how much I love you guys but I think you should reconsider the use of Rabbit's Reviews and The Best Porn in the selection process to eliminate the perception of any conflicts.
They should not be judging site that may or may not write them checks. :winkwink:
If they choose a company they do business with, it looks bad. If they DON'T choose a company BECAUSE it may look bad, that too is bad.

Wow. Someone finally told AVN about the Internet. Those guys are really on top of things.

Hi guys, just an update ..

AVN announced Monday that it will leave the pre-nominations Website for the 2009 AVN Awards Show open until Friday, Oct. 3.

The site originally was scheduled to close at the end of business on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

"We understand that several producers are hustling to get all their information entered into the site before it closes as well as submit their DVDs," said Dan Miller, editor-in-chief of AVN magazine. "So we are leaving the site open for three more business days to give people some extra time to finish their submissions."
