iPhone 2.1 Rocks! No more Lags!

Just updated the iphone to 2.1 and it finally works smoothly like it worked with 1.1.4 :thumbsup No more address book lags or text messaging lags.
Also the unlock stays alive when you update it, only the jailbreak is gone :thumbsup
Happy updating!

ISPrime_dimi 09-16-2008 01:35 AM

my biggest problem atm is the call drops. i'll be sitting in one spot talking and the call would drop it like its hot... hopefully this new update will help that -- unless it's an at&t thing...

Jens Van Assterdam 09-16-2008 01:46 AM

Never had that problem.. T-mobile over here.
Only my Wlan is breaking up every other minute.

clickhappy 09-16-2008 06:11 AM

I hate my iPhone
I had a conversation, ended the call and put the phone down and continued taling to the person next to me in the car.

The person I called said the phone redialed them, they picked up, and heard the entire conversation I had with the person I was talking to.
Now Im afraid to use my iPhone because I dont know when a call is ended or not.
I wish I could return it.

swoop 09-16-2008 07:11 AM

downloading it now, looking forward to the texting upgrade

Manowar 09-16-2008 07:15 AM

Updating mine right now.

Sell it. I'm sure it will sell right away.

Toni 09-16-2008 08:53 AM

For me it works perfect, especially since the 2.1 update.
Best phone ever for me! In combination with MobileMe and a to-do list that I set up to sync tasks with outlook I have it all covered. I tried tons of phones and not a single one worked that well.

beta-tester 09-16-2008 09:03 AM

Yes it does rock! But it's not perfect yet... And yes, there is a jailbreak, dev guys released it few days ago :) U can use either QuickPWN or PwnageTool, only for Macs tho ;)

BigSicK 09-16-2008 10:06 AM

thanks for the heads up I'm updating now

If you are in Europe you should buy the 3G from Italy, it's not locked there.

Godsmack 09-17-2008 05:55 AM

Italy, France, Belgium also have unlocked phones for sale..
I got one from Czech, unlocked as default as well..

Google seems to disagree with you

beta-tester 09-17-2008 08:44 AM

He meant that there is no SOFTWARE unlock for 3G. Of course using TurboSIM or other cards cloning tools will make your phone work, but you got to have that card, and still it won't be unlocked by our means of unlocked, only 'cheated' that there is appropriate AT&T card.

undersoul 09-17-2008 08:56 AM

2.1 has really improved performance :)

yes, yes. You can use it as a computer device, but not as a phone. LOL An irony :)

brandonstills 09-17-2008 06:40 PM

I just upgraded. I don't notice any difference. It still has those slow annoying transitions when switching between screens.

Porko 09-17-2008 09:34 PM

works great here, I love it :)

Toni 09-17-2008 11:41 PM

The only problem I notice from time to time is that some applications crash

VeriSexy 09-17-2008 11:49 PM

I need to update mine

Hansm 09-21-2008 02:35 AM

We orderded a rebelsim, hope that works.

Anyway did play with it and looks like a nice phone. Better than the ones before. Hope the phone itself will work beter.

did read bad stories about dropped calls, bad signal. but new firmware should solve that. can anyone confirm this?

I think thats only a 3g problem. I got the first gen iPhone and never had these problems.

Manowar 09-21-2008 06:20 AM

the 3g is weird about calls sometimes, keeps them on after you hang up and drops them randomly etc

ppixel01 09-21-2008 06:56 AM

so better get iphone classic :D

DamianJ 09-21-2008 11:48 AM

The dropped calls issue is widely being reported as fixed with the 2.1 update. Also the battery life is WAY better.

Jakez 09-21-2008 02:54 PM

Has anyone unlocked the 3G or what?

I switched from Verizon a few months ago just so i could get the 3G . Verizon are a great company and i wish Steve Jobs had partnered with them in place of AT&T.

AT&T are in my opinion the worlds worst company. Dropped calls, 5 days before voicemails show up, etc etc ?
If the iphone has issues im sure in part they are due to AT&T

I agree with the others, the 2.1 software is much better and faster :thumbsup

kaktuz 09-21-2008 05:33 PM

use GarageBand on your mp3 to convert it into a ringtone then upload it to the phone :thumbsup
