So I drove a race car on Saturday

And to tell you the truth, I didn't like it one bit. It was quite powerful compared to my Civic, but this wasn't comfortable power by any means... it was brutal. My biggest complaint was the fact that it didn't have power brakes, and entering the first turn was quite a scare... the fucking thing nearly flew off the track. I was not comfortable in it whatsoever.

The brakes were not applying strongly enough - right until they were applying nearly full lock.

My words to the pit crew after I got out were "these brakes are fucked!" Their words "Well, we don't exactly get to maintain them how they probably should be maintained."

Fantastic.

By race car you mean?

Mr Pheer 09-16-2008 01:35 AM

You want brutal? Try driving a 125cc shifterkart. I have many trophies from doing it.

skinnay 09-16-2008 02:09 AM

Most race brakes need to be extremely hot in order to feel like normal brakes

Pornstuck 09-16-2008 11:32 AM

That's gotta be the stupidest type of race car I have ever heard of.

xenigo 09-16-2008 01:17 PM

Yeah well if I had my pick I'd have driven a Formula 1 car, Porsche GT, or Ferrari Enzo... but I didn't really have a choice.

k0nr4d 09-16-2008 01:28 PM

Oh don't get me wrong, I'd probably have done it too. However, I cant believe racing that only turns left has enough of a following to operate heh
