People are making money off AIG today. Only down 40% now. If you bought at the low you could have doubled your money in a hour.

yys 09-16-2008 07:51 AM

Someone is going to pick up the pieces. I'm going to guess it will be Manulife.

It does not look like it. Shame really as they have assets just no cash but then they should have seen this coming and bolstered their cash on hand.

DateDoc 09-16-2008 07:53 AM

Wall Street sources are saying The Fed is talking about bailing out AIG.

pocketkangaroo 09-16-2008 08:43 AM

Yeah, saw that too. Fed saying that some sort of bailout is not out of the question. There is no way they can do this privately, going to have to be government funded.

Mordhaus 09-16-2008 08:53 AM

if they go tits up does this mean I dont have to finish paying off my car loan to them? LOL

Yep, and more will follow, I wonder at what point they will have to stop.

Twoface31 09-16-2008 09:10 AM

ummmmmm strange

pocketkangaroo 09-16-2008 09:19 AM

Going to be an extremely big bailout. I mean these guys were in need of $70-$80 billion. Our tax dollars hard at work.
