well this sucks. now all the jackasses who understand nothing about the commodities markets, that were crying that oil was going to hit 200.00 barrel soon will have to find other things to panic about. :(

seeandsee 09-15-2008 04:59 AM

hip hip hurey!

Bojangles 09-15-2008 04:59 AM

Some how the oil prices have been dropping, bust last week the price of gas either raised or stayed the same. Wtf?

directfiesta 09-15-2008 06:13 AM

Meanwhile, it just broke a record high at the pump in Mtl: 1.49 /liter ....

Probably our oil rigs in Alberta got hit by Ike .... or another hurricane ....:warning

tony286 09-15-2008 06:22 AM

I was gonna say the same thing, it's fucking bullshit.

What I get a kick outta is when they panic, boom, the gas price increases by a lot and often, but yet once the panic is over, it only drops a hair, then sits there until the next panic, so it can shoot up even higher, it's like WTF ?!?!?

Iron Fist 09-15-2008 08:10 AM

Who cares.. i'm still paying $1.43 a liter... why the fixation on oil barrel price... I think they've proved long ago the two aren't mutual.

sortie 09-15-2008 08:13 AM

Too bad gas at the pump went up $1.00 a gallon in some places last week.

it's almost like you put gasoline in your car, and not crude oil...... :winkwink:

tranza 09-15-2008 08:28 AM

I had no idea that you can run your gas on oil. What kind of car do you have? ;-)

Gas is made from oil, it isn't straight oil. There has been quite a large hurricane in the Gulf... where a good portion of our gas is created from oil. Also, just because oil prices are at $X today, doesn't mean the refineries got them at $X... they still need to get their money back from buying oil at $Y.

The price of gas has a couple week delay on oil. Give it time, it will drop.

I'm glad that oil is dropping, but I really hope this doesn't make people suddenly forget the energy situation we are in.

You can run diesel cars on Cooking Oil.
Petrol prices have come down about 3 pence in the past 2 months over here. So I'm now paying £1.09/litre. But we're heading into a recession so I might be able to afford petrol but wont be able to afford anything but beans and noodles :1orglaugh

Correct.

They are only mutual when the price of oil goes up. :1orglaugh

That is about the only thing they proved.

HomerSimpson 09-15-2008 10:39 AM
