The acting on Fox's new FRINGE is the worst I've seen in a long time. CANCELLED

This show is doomed.

So bad.

Bye Bye.

BSleazy 09-14-2008 08:50 PM

I love shows like that (not talking about the acting). I hope it doesn't get canceled.

seeric 09-14-2008 08:51 PM

i like shows like this, but they are really bad. i mean really bad.

Sly 09-14-2008 08:57 PM

I started watching the pilot episode tonight on hulu.com and I honestly got bored. It started out with some mysterious outbreak on a plane and then it is suddenly a quest to save a loved one... almost a little too cheesy.

agreed. which sucks because its from the same creator as Lost and I love Lost. I might give this show another week or two but if it doesn't pick up at all im done.

Sly 09-14-2008 09:02 PM

It's kind of unfortunate because I really like that black guy in other work that he has done... he pretty much always plays the same character but I still enjoyed him nonetheless in The Wire and Oz.

One thing I've found in the last few years(with the good crop of shows they've been churning out), is that most shows that turn out to be awesome never usually grab you in the first few episodes.

they seem to hit their stride a few episodes in, so they need chance -- unless it's 24, where the object is to give you a heart attack in the first 20 minutes and never let up.

Oh absolutely, sometimes it takes a whole season for a character to fully develop. It's worth giving a shot still.

i will still be watching it hopefully its better next episode. The main character chick sucks at acting but she has this ugly look that turns me on for some reason

I thought it was ok. The story was pretty interesting. I found the science to be total fiction but somewhat plausible (except for the bit about seeing the dreams of a dead guy).

The guy who played her boss was a real ass.

The office of the high tech company was stupid looking (impossibly large, impossibly clean. We know they're supposed to be a high tech company, but come on).

Other than these rants though I think the show has a future. Give it a few more eppy's and we'll see.

Anyway, who cares? HEROES is back!

PR_Sebas 09-17-2008 10:48 AM

alright, so im sitting here watching the second episode and I'm really into the storyline, but the acting is just TERRIBLE!

anyone else watch the second episode. im about 1 or 2 more episodes away from forgetting about this show.

here is a line from the second episode
Guy: "No, this is ok we're making progress"
Girl: (Pointing at dead body) "Why don't you tell her it's going to be ok!"
Other Guy: "I thought you had a way with women?"

COMMMME ON!

If CSI: Miami is still on the air, anything has a chance.

cherrylula 09-17-2008 01:05 PM

It's not worse than any Fox drama. I caught part of that House show, that was terrible too.

I liked the opening scene in Fringe though, with the crazy baby birth, that was pretty good.

talk about bad acting, 90210 anyone? :1orglaugh

and they just revived that show! Its FOX, drama and looks over acting ability.

V_RocKs 09-17-2008 01:35 PM

Acting on LOST = Shit... JJ Abrams... go figure... Show does just fine... Therefor Fringe will be just fine.

"It warms your ass!"

I totally disagree there. I like the acting on Lost. I don't think it'd 100% top notch but it's WAYYYYYY better than Fringe.

UniqueD 09-17-2008 01:44 PM

the pilot episode was a lot of character and plot development. Had to setup why these people are working together, who they are etc...

pornguy 09-17-2008 01:55 PM

Never even heard of it.

cosign... the acting is just as bad as CSI (which I don't/won't watch either) :upsidedow

Quagmire 09-17-2008 02:39 PM

Fringe is amusing. I dunno how long it can last though. Some FBI agent, a douchebag and his dad as the main characters? wtf

aico 10-13-2008 03:52 PM

Watching it right now on Fox.com, bad acting and a total X-files rip off.

JayMoyes 10-13-2008 04:20 PM

Saw the pilot. Overall, it just really fell short of the mystery I was expecting. For me, Abrams stuff is really getting to be hit or miss. I love Lost, and the Cloverfield ARG was ingenious.

But the Fringe pilot was just a little too cliche for me. I kept thinking Altered States when I saw the isolation tank.

For the time being, I'll stick with the reruns of Lost on Sci-Fi and G4 for my Abrams fix.

bhutocracy 10-13-2008 04:54 PM

I thought the first few episodes of The Wire were crap too. Actually, I watched the first two episodes and stopped watching. It was only about 3 months later when someone said it gets better and it hits it's stride later in season 2, better than the Soprano's etc that I went back to it and gave it the time it deserved/needed. I think i've saw about 10 minutes of fringe.. not enough to make a judgement. Some people were frozen in a bus and the commissioner from the Wire was on it.. looked like it might be okish. Kind of a X-Files-lite that you wouldn't turn off if it was on. Don't really know though I didn't watch the whole thing as I was leaving.

JamesK 10-13-2008 04:55 PM

I watched that shit for 1 minute and turned it off
