how much would a site that is making 1 paysite sale per month...

Curious as to opinions out there...

What do you think a stable site (2 years old or more) that is all se organic traffic for somewhat generic terms (eg. not a site that is a misspell or based on selling for a single paysite or sologirl) that generates an average of 1 paysite membership sale per month would be valued as a fair sale price range?

Jens Van Assterdam 09-14-2008 12:18 PM

What kind of site makes >1< sale a month?
Or why should someone consider buying something like this?

The Duck 09-14-2008 12:19 PM

The site is worth what someone will pay for it.

fallenmuffin 09-14-2008 12:25 PM

$7.99 (If the domain is good maybe more) + approx. traffic value

1 sale a month is horrible btw

V_RocKs 09-14-2008 12:41 PM

I have 100's with 1 sale a month... They are not worth anything individually. Collectively they are worth 1000'a a month.

1 sale a month, does that even pay for hosting and marketing and time and effort?

Deej 09-14-2008 12:55 PM

mus be some bad marketing or a really odd ball niche

good point. Im with ya on that one.

Nicky 09-14-2008 01:28 PM

If it has been constant for 2 years I'd say ~4-6 month revenue.

aico 09-14-2008 01:34 PM

Organic SE with 1 sale per month? must have a bounce rate of like 98%

Is the content exclusive? You'd probably make more selling the content.

Do they let you out to play without a helmet?

natas 09-14-2008 02:16 PM

1 sale a month doesn't sound like much for that:2 cents:

he didnt even tell you the traffic and you're going to tell him what his bounce rate is? he could be getting 10 hits a day. you guys also have to realize that its worth something for the linking power alone. i would say that it should be worth at least $100 and possibly more if the site is good.

10 hits times 30 days is 300 hits, 1:300 on Organic SE is pretty bad :2 cents:

If the content is exclusive, I am sure he can make more than $100 from it.

born2blog 09-14-2008 02:41 PM

I can't see a site like that selling for much

Then please explain your math.

Stable organic site (which typically means no real upkeep or marketing).
Organic SEO traffic (which also typically means no real BW usage).
Averages 1 sale per month.

Now how in the hell can it not more than pay for itself? Fully leaving out just the linking possibility alone, and any work one could do if they desired to increase the traffic or sales. As is, how would it not pay for itself?

One sale a month ain't worth shit and I wouldn't waste my time on linking or waste my time at all, unless the site was given to me.:helpme

10 hits to the site, not to the sponsor... :2 cents:

Some reason people forget about bounce vs click through ratio. Then hell if the site had say three different sponsor links on it. That alone would bring it to 1:100 with a 0% bounce and a 100% ctr. Though I have never gotten 100% ctr myself on anything that was not a direct link.

you missed the whole point, i pulled that # out of my ass. he didnt even post the traffic stats, it could be 1 hit per week for all you know.

How much is that sale worth? 6x that and that's probably what you could get for it..

I was, for some reason, under the impression the site itself was a paysite. My bad, I recant all comments.

HighEnergy 09-14-2008 11:30 PM

6 to 18 months earnings.

But if it's a no-touch site with purely organic traffic I would never sell it.
I'd be building 999 more just like it. :winkwink:
