Train Wreck in Chatsworth

I hope no one on here had family or friends on the Metrolink from Union Station to Moorpark... I was one of the last cars allowed up Topanga Cyn on my way home today and the scene is brutal... I saw at least one body pulled out and reports of many more..

Sad sad scene... :(

Looks very nasty, hope for the best for everyone involved.

Looks like the metro took the punch pretty well. I would expect a freight train to kick its ass.

gotta wonder how they managed to run 2 trains into each other?

DefaultMan 09-12-2008 07:52 PM

I was just listening to the radio to try and find out what was going on. No surprise GFY has more info on it.

Ouch :( Looks like quite a populated area too.. Hard to imagine in this day and age such an error.

Both took a hard hit...

Was it computer operated switches?

Dave_Lethal 09-12-2008 11:17 PM

I was a few blocks when it happened, I've never seen that many cop cars, ambulances, and helicopters headed in one direction before

Most of the mentionable breaking news out there is on here very shortly after it happens.

Gotta love this board.

the operator of the commuter train failed to stop at a red light...:(

RevSand 09-13-2008 01:38 PM

Reports of 23 dead now on this... Really sad... That was closer to my guess from what I saw at the scene... In my pics you can see them pulling bodies out with the ladder truck.

I saw that on the news, they interrupted this gulf hurricane shit to show that!

Seeing that freaked me out, I have dropped off and picked up so many people riding the metro, I couldn't believe it.

They are going to have to gain customer reassurance after this, I wouldn't ride that shit now!
