im using php and crontab.. but ...
hey all you techie porno guys..
im using php for my pages, only get about 11k a day, but i set crontab up with wget to save a copy of the page, but once every twenty minutes if a user goes to the page at the same time as it is being written, then it comes up with a blank page of course... anyone got any ways around this?? many thanks... :-D |
How large is this cronejob since it's a problem should be secounds unless you're rewriting some serious shit. You could make the cron save the new file as new.html then rename old.html to backup_date.html and rename new.html to old.html should go faster if you're rewriting takes a long time

what he said, store the wget results in temp.filename.php, then mv temp.filename.php filename.php when it's done

yeh that makes sense, ill do that, thanks you guys.
