both.
Because I love my Mac but most surfers are on a PC. |
I baught a mac about 6 months back, just to test it out. Did not like it and ended up never using it so I sold it again. If you have been using pc's for a long time. Converting to mac is hard in my opinion.
|
it's "Mac" not "MAC"
I run both. Those that know, know. PC users complain more about the price of Macs than their capabilities. Porn webmasters most likely need nothing more than a pc. But when you choose to go Prosumer, the reasons 'to' outweigh the reasons 'not to.' ;) :smokin |
PCs are ugly and cheap looking. Mac all the way. Bitchin':thumbsup

|
i just did the "switch"
but i switched from a mac to a PC ! mega OS & app problems on my mac. Hey Steve Jobs, GFY! |
there is not enough software for macs

hahaha okay. What software specifically is not available on both? just another silly rumor, anything you need is available. The games you play on your pc were designed on a Mac. The Cds you listen to were recorded on a mac. From Video Editing to Graphics, Mac has software for everything. In fact Mac has the Professional version of software. ProTools Final Cut Pro Adobe Macromedia What else do you need? |
fanciness of Mac is deceiving
Mac is for people who like the looks, design, and the friendly friendly software interfaces.. PC is hundred times more flexible than a Mac.. you have tons of options for upgrading your hardware, playing around with it.. even better you can install different operating systems.. As a PC user, i say flexibility and hardware power is everything... Oh yeah by the way, you can also build a custom PC that would have a much cooler look than a Mac.. you are not bound to a handful of options.. Mac's are meant to be fool-proof, on the other hand PC's are meant to be a machine to push the limits of your technical skills.. |
and also PC is not the same thing as IBM for gods sake... this thread looks like it was posted in the 80's (that commodore option is also a factor)

They might be good ( :1orglaugh ) but they look like something from Lego Land. |
We own several macs and several PCs. I am by far partial to the macs, especially using OSX with the Unix kernal. It comes with Apache running right out of the box. Apple's hardware is also exceptional to anything I have seen in the PC world. There is something to be said for Apple making the hardware and the OS. They simply run better. Apple is an innovator....
Sure there is not as much software for the Mac. However, all of the best programs are made for both and the Mac version is usually far better than the PC version. Mitch |
too hard to get pirated shit for macs :2 cents:
|
Almost anything you can run on a PC you can run on a Mac
Firstly, OSX is *nix. Largest desktop flavor I believe. Second you can run Linux, and *Bsd on Mac hardware, which by the way is quite good. Third, with VPC I can run any version of windows I want at the same time. FletchXXX is right, Macs are becoming the ultimate prosumer computers. At the same time, they are becoming easier for novice users to operate. |

http://ichart.yahoo.com/z?s=aapl&a=v...m&l=on&z=m&q=l http://yahoo.businessweek.com/bwdail...21025_3448.htm "Introduced last May, Schwab's A-to-F rating system is intended to give investors objective help in making buy and sell decisions. Indeed, some widely held and much-loved stocks get D and F ratings -- names like Apple Computer (AAPL ), Krispy Kreme (KKD ), Hewlett-Packard (HPQ ), Target (TGT ), and Southwest Airlines (LUV ). Q: Now, this one is sure to really make some shareholders angry: Apple (AAPL ) is a company that people love, and you dare rate it an F! A: People certainly are emotionally linked to Apple. However, emotions are the enemy of the objective investor. Per our analysis, Apple is pretty unattractive across the board. It's still selling at an above-average multiple of earnings and cash flow. Management is issuing shares (as opposed to buying them back), which we mentioned before that we don't like to see. And short-sellers are selling more and more of Apple short. Its fundamentals aren't great either, when you look at free cash flow growth and free cash flow return on investment. Its earnings quality is very poor. We come to this conclusion by looking at the difference between operating cash flow and reported net income. There is some management discretion as to how you report your net income, but in the long run, operating cash flow and net income must converge. If net income is much higher than operating cash flow, the tendency is for net income to fall back in line. Apple looks particularly poor on that measure." |
Sold my Mac about 8 months ago.
I am now using an IBM PC, Compaq Pressario 700 Laptop, and a Hewlett Packard PC. Might get another Mac soon? |
if you are successful using the hardware you do - all the power to you.
personally, i use mac/mac OS and dell pro edge/freebsd OS only - to operate my entire business. i like mac, and i like unix, and i'm certainly happy with the results. who cares? :glugglug |
Redshoe--
Did you actually bother to read what I wrote? Or were you bent on showing us you skill at regurgating information from analysts? Quality of a product and success of a company are two differnent things. Ask, well... we sell porn, we see this daily. Krispy Kreme donuts are excellent, that doesn't say jack shit about the fundamentals of the c o m p a n y. A more accurate source would be to quote a comparision of hardware, software or almost anything but an analysts rating of the company. If you don't like Apple simply say so. :1orglaugh |
